Cory Anderson

According to this site, Cory Anderson didn't fumble at all last year. That obviously isn't true, but I really can't remember any other than the one in Tuscaloosa. I think he'll do just fine next year, assuming David Cutcliffe comes up with a few intelligent ways to use a FB (remember Shawn Bryson?) Of course, our last OC had trouble implementing the FB (remember Troy Flemming?)

CA just needs to be patient when catching the ball. He seems anxious to turn up the field and run over someone which is all good, but pointless without the ball.

This has been another obvious lesson taught by OWB.

Well I wouldn't say pointless. I would love to see him plow through a few gators, crimson tide, bulldogs, bears.....without the ball. As my father so eliquently puts it at the game (red faced and all) "plant thier d*&%# in the dirt!" Man I love that guy.

I think people get on Cory Anderson a little too much because of that big fumble at the end of the Bama game.

I also distinctly remember him brick-handing more than his share of swing passes.

Exactly! They should just put it right into his stomach between his arms. Can rarely mess that up ... unless we're playing Georgia in 2003 ...

Troy Flemming was the worst FB in the last 20 years

I personally don't know him but from what I have heard he didn't have the best attitude. i really don't know who the worst FB was in the last 20 yrs. however, if he was that bad then he wouldn't be playing in the NFL.

Will did his job and did it without being disruptive and that is more than I can say for Fleming.

Money has a way of making a player do whats right. At UT Fleming was the worst example of a FB

Id take shawn Bryson anytime. He was a versatile solid back that seemed very unselfish and had soft hands.

That is insane. Flemming average like 0.2 yards per touch and could not block. Every year he was our starting FB, we had terrible years rushing. When Bartholomew was blocking in 2001, our RB made the All-American team. You might say Cedric Houston was no Travis Stephens, but look what happened after Troy graduated. Cedric had his one and only 1,000 yard rushing season (so did Gerald Riggs).

Not a big Troy Fleming fan, but I loved his brother. I couldn't believe Randy Moore of IT.com didn't have him in his top 15 list of UT receivers, but he did have Craig Faulkner.

Faulkner was one of my favs. He went across the middle and would catch anything thrown at him.
