It would be great if there were some place with adequate instructors where promising athletes like Cory could hone their football skills before taking a crack at the NFL.

There are. Jamarcus Russell is at one right now and Lady Quinn just left one. It's in AZ. There are others as well.

I was facetiously referring to college football programs.

I see. I forgot, UT is the only program that has players not being able to make an NFL team. I mean OU, USC, UF and others never have kids not make it in the league.

You'd think a guy could at least develop some servicable skills after showing promise as a sophomore. It's not like he came in and was a bust from day one. He got to Knoxville, was good, and never got any better. In fact, he may have gotten worse.

And I am sure he bears no personal responsibility in this matter.

Well, stupid him then.

Hmmm? He was a physical specimen. I don't think he had a problem with laziness or anything. I just don't think he really ever became great at football. That could be his fault. It likely also is related to his instruction. If not for Trooper Taylor moving to coach the running backs in 2004, Cedric Houston and Gerald Riggs end up being slightly earlier versions of Cory. If Trooper hadn't then moved to the WR unit, there likely would have been several more players like Cory.

I am not sure how any of this has anything to do with me statng he plays some role in his outcome.

He is a physical specimen and I expected some great things from him and they never happened. I am sure coaching is to blame for some of that. But he shares some of it as well.

I never claimed he played no role in his outcome. You claimed he was stupid for letting the 2005 season negatively affect him. If that's an indication of stupidity, UT has a lot of morons on the team.
