Tennessee Senate passes bill to allow over-the-counter sales of ivermectin

The study referred to in the article, the TOGETHER study showed there was zero benefit to ivermectin as a COVID treatment. What people fell for was the fact the “COVID treatment regime “ often quoted was literally throwing everything at the wall to see what stuck, including monoclonal treatments, massive antibiotic doses and steroids. Which those treatments are known to work.

On the positive side at least maybe less Tennesseans will go to some of these telemedicine quacks who charge exorbitant prices for visits. Saw that one of the biggest pushers of ivermectin, Dr Pierre Kory started a telemedicine site where he is charging about $1k for a consulting fee with him or one his nurse practitioners (more likely).
Anyways it is likely in the upcoming months that paxlovid will be shown to decrease risk of long covid and when it does it will be approved for general population use. When this occurs paxlovid will become standard of care for treatment of covid and if a doctor or now pharmacist opts to give ivermectin over paxlovid to someone who doesn’t have a contraindication to the drug (drug interactions, onset of symptoms less than 5 days, etc) and that person has any type of bad outcome ( hospitalization or even prolonged mental fog) that doctor or pharmacist isn’t going to be around very long.

It was nice leaving GEG today without a mask. All for being safe but sitting shoulder to shoulder and thinking a mask helped was odd.

A theory: Many COVID deaths in the US/EU would not be registered as COVID in other places.
There's no way any of the numbers are accurate. We all know there was incentive to use Covid as cause of death. On the other side, it also stands to reason that Covid cases are probably undercounted now that home tests are everywhere. Covid is likely more prevalent but with a lower mortality rate than we'll ever know.

This is how many lives could have been saved with COVID vaccinations in each state

One tragic fact about the nearly 1 million people who died of COVID-19 in the U.S. is that a huge share of them didn't have to.

In Tennessee, 11,047 of the people who died could have survived if everyone in the state had gotten vaccinated. In Ohio, that number is 15,875. Nationally it's nearly 319,000, according a new estimate.

Took my mom to a Drs apt last week. She got her 2nd booster. The Dr told her to switch from Pfizer to Moderna because it would provide extra antibodies. Likewise he recommends anyone who started with Moderna should switch to Pfizer.

He did not recommend JJ or Astra at all.
