I hope he's not the next Devin Hester. An extremely talented return specialist that never really does anything as a WR in the league.

I would love to see him become an elite wide receiver in the NFL from UT.

This is actually the best comparison for him. Hopefully he gets running routes down and can do more. Though I'd gladly take Hesters career.

Minnesota needs a real QB first

This one is probably the result of great blocking by the Vikings. He had to do very little to return it. A couple of small cuts and he was in front of everyone.

Didn't even showcase his freakish talent.

I was hoping he really showed out. I've been talking up Patterson to several of my ff buddies. Was looking forward to the chance to show them what I'm talking about.

Well hopefully after this the Vikings will at least design a few plays each week just for Patterson.

When asked about Cordarrelle Patterson's lack of playing time, coach Leslie Frazier said the Vikings are "going to get that rectified."

The Vikings surrendered second-, third-, fourth- and seventh-round picks in April so they could move up to 29th overall and take Patterson. The freakishly talented rookie has played just 11 offensive snaps through two weeks. "He definitely deserves to be on the field more. He's shown that in the few snaps he's gotten in these first two ball games," Frazier said. Jerome Simpson predictably crashed back to earth in Week 2, catching two passes for 49 yards on five targets. The Vikings need Patterson to do some of the manufactured things Percy Harvin did for them over the past few years. He's a hold in deeper formats.
