Our DC, OC, and ST coordinators are up in the box.

Some coordinators like to be on sideline.

Is there a real benefit of being on sideline, and if so, shouldn't we at least try it?

Do more successful teams have their coordinators on sideline?

Off the top of my head, I know that Bama and UGA OC's are on the sideline.

Get on the sidelines. Look your players in the eyes (when they play the way it was drawn up/ done in practice, and when not); get an up-close and personal chewing from HC when you call the wrong play; get in the weather just like the rest of the team.

One coordinator I know hates it up in the box. He's not a coordinator anymore.

Why not make them watch from home or at best in the stands? If you believe some the posts on here, observation from those venues affords the best clarity for oversight and correction.

I've wondered the same thing but mainly the DC. Debord needs to be able to see the D better from the box. Try anything to shake it up!!! GBO!

I think if you're in box you have a better look at what's happening on the other side of the ball as an OC. If I was a DC I think I'd want to be on the sideline. But Bama for sure keeps their coordinators on the sideline, UGA does too, Miss State as well. Don't hold me to it but I'm fairly certain I seen Ole Miss' coordinators on the sideline as well. At least their DC.

Debord watching it on TV and listening to the radio would be of great benefit. The commentators can tell Debord what the next play is going to be based on his tendencies they picked up in their prep of the game. Maybe he can finally see what the rest of us see. How predictable our offense is and that if there is not an opening in the first 10 attempts, there will likely not be one on the next 10.

Plus they are not as neurotic as Butch is with that freakin rewind button.

You can see much better from the box imo. The two coordinators need to be in the box and the position coaches need to be on the coach and Sheriron Jones needs to be in the oline huddle to light a fire under their asses.

I think if the OC is on the sideline then a QB coach should be in the box but i like when the DC is on the sideline so he can get in someones face and pump them up if need be.

That's a good idea, they could even use facetime:eek:lol:
