Unforgiven from Clint Eastwood in 1992 was the first western to win the Oscar for Best Picture since High Noon in 1952. It really is a great film, imo.

From Little Bill Daggett (played by Gene Hackman) comes this line just before he keels over...

"I don't deserve this..to die like this.
I was buildin' a house."

This is what I intended to post when I opened this thread, only I was going to include the condescending "boy"

"Dying ain't much of a living, boy"

That movie is awesome and I filled with great lines.

e.g.

You boys gonna pull those pistols, or whistle Dixie?

"Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that makes me tight in the throat - the same tightness a man gets when his baby takes his first step or his first baby shaves and makes his first sound as a man. Some words can give you a feeling that makes your heart warm. Republic is one of those words."

-Davy Crockett being played by John Wayne in The Alamo. 1960.

Another good one from Clint in "Unforgiven"

Little Bill Daggett: Well, sir, you are a cowardly son of a *****! You just shot an unarmed man!
Will Munny: Well, he should have armed himself if he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.

"What we've got here is... failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it... well, he gets it. I don't like it any more than you men. "

"God has a hard on for Marines, because we kill everything we see. He plays His games, we play ours. To show our appreciation for so much power, we keep heaven packed with fresh souls. God was here before the Marine Corps, so you can give your heart to Jesus, but your ass belongs to the corps."
