Anybody got any advice/tips on how to effectively control, preferably kill, Bermuda grass in a Fescue lawn without harming the Fescue? All I ever here is, "you'll never get rid of Bermuda unless you just kill your entire lawn and even that may not eradicate it".

I'm looking at buying some Gordon's Ornamec 170 Herbicide or Monterrey Turflon Ester from Amazon. Anybody ever had success with either of those? They're a bit pricey so don't want to spend the dough if it's ineffective.

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Give the fescue the upper hand, seed heavy this fall and beginning next spring mow at around 3 inches.

I'm telling you, Ornamec is the stuff. Read carefully on application, use the surfactant, and reapply as instructed.

Appreciate the tips! I've been trying to keep my mower at the highest setting since late spring to give the Fescue the upper hand. Tried using some of that Bayer Advanced for Bermuda and that seemed to stimey it for a little bit but I think I may give the Ornamec a whirl. I know it's a severe uphill battle to fight...

Is it in the shade?

How much Bermuda do you have?

Entire lawn was sodded with Fescue when we built in 2014-2015 but patches started creeping within that 1st year. It's still 85-90% Fescue with patches of Bermuda here and there. Problem is person on one side of me has straight weeds in the front yard and 100% Bermuda in the back. The person on the other side of me has about 50/50 Fescue/Bermuda. It's on both sides of me so I can try to get rid of what is currently in my yard but my next battle is going to be what's creeping on either side of me.

I guess I should take the advice from earlier and just move...😂

I killed my lawn 2 weekend ago and attempted to regrade and amend the soil. Turned out terribly. Calling in a pro to clean up

I'm telling you: if you are determined, you can hit those patches with Ornamec and a sprayer. Worked for me at my old house and friends who did the same.

My new place is a lost cause. Everything is green, so I'm just rolling with that right now. My only realistic solution is to kill the whole thing and start from scratch, which would necessitate the pros. The kids and dogs don't seem to mind the mixed greenery, and I'd rather drop my fun money on music equipment, Jeep parts, firearms, and craft beer.

I'm surprised you have done this well with fescue honestly then.

Let me talk to my turf management guy. I've got some ideas but let me run it by him first.

Thanks O! I'm a bit OCD about my yard so that's why the Bermuda is grating on me. Most people could probably live with the patches I have but the perfectionist in me wants it G.O.N.E.

Thanks kd! I'm gonna snag some on Amazon and hit the Bermuda once all this rain in middle TN passes.
