Is there a clause in CDD contract that prevents him from going to UGA, I thought I might of heard that somewhere??

I would speculate CDD hires Chuck Smith this afternoon.

When all the assistant coaches' contracts are finalized Hammy will have the line item he wants and will then hammer out the specifics of CDD's contract and then we'll see leaks that may answer this question.

I would certainly hope Hammy learned his lesson, however.

I feel like we've talked about this before.
There's no reason to think that Dooley would head for UGA. He played for Virginia, and will now make a living at Tennessee. His dad played at Auburn and then made a living at UGA.
Tennessee took a chance on him, and he seems like a stand-up guy who will respect that. I think he's here as long as he's allowed to stay.

Hopefully, hamilton puts a huge buyout in there if dooley leaves early.

Dooley negotiated his own contract at Tech and it was quite favorable for Tech. He won't have a problem with any buyout Hamilton feels like he needs

The fact that there are threads discussing a current coach leaving for another school prior to holding his first practice says a lot about the state of Tennessee football, and the fanbase that supports it.

Unless Georgia fires Richt and the President, I could not see Dooley going there. I believe that Daddy Dooley did not leave UGA on good terms with the current President or maybe it was the AD.

I would think that UGA would throw their money at Will Muschamp who played there. We will see. If Dooley starts out 4-0 next year, he might be the guy they target.

Michael Adams may leave uga in a few years--he's hated down there by 99.9% of UGA fans and they are trying to get rid of him.

Dooley probably wouldn't go to UGA even then. Just my two cents.

While I don't think there is anything to worry about, it's a legitimate topic of discussion considering what we've just been through.

I guess I can understand that. The new MO has become "Worry early, and worry often".

Dooley is prob worried about not getting canned himself. Much more chance of us firing him, then him taking off. Guess having 2 coaches in 30 years, we don't think like that.

There is also the legacy factor. Even if he had an interest in coaching Georgia, Coach Dooley may not appreciate the expectations and constant comparisons which would be associated with his father's tenure at Athens.

I agree 100%. Vince Dooley came to Georgia, probably with strong ties to Auburn (his alma mater). He embraced Georgia and is now a Bulldog through and through. Derek is a man of high character. He will not throw Tennessee under the bus. If the Georgia job comes open in the next five years, he will be at Tennessee as long as Tennessee wants him.

Dooley will either win big and make a name for himself at UT, or he'll get fired and never get a look from UGA. Either way, I don't see him ever coaching in Athens.

The Dooley truck will be in Knoxville for MANY years. He will surpass Fulmer in wins, S.E.C. Championships and NC. I am drinking the Dooley-aid and it sure as hell tastes good!

If he was interested in Ga. I would have thought he would have went when he was Saban's recruiting coordinator and bringing in those #1 classes.
