Congratulations.

One of the things that concerned me before the game was that while I thought the Tennessee defense could be had, they got stronger as the game went along in each game. Today was no different. I know that the offense will get most of the credit for the win, but IMO, the defense gave the offense an opportunity to get it done. And the offense came through

Tennessee did what they needed to do to break the streak. Bad stuff happens. It’s the way it is. Today, they said “screw it”, we’re going to win anyway.

Someone mentioned what Florida did against North Texas defensively and I said that gameplans are different for every opponent. I indicated that I don’t know why you would blitz Tennessee. After this game, I still don’t know why you would blitz Tennessee. My greatest fears were realized. Florida felt the need to leave open the opportunity for big plays. Tennessee made them pay. The great irony is that Florida lived off of the big play in the 1st half. Once there was no big play, there was no offense.

The best news, for you all, isn’t merely that Tennessee won. It’s how they game played out. They won despite the fact that everything that could go wrong did and they didn’t let it phase them.

Enjoy. Be safe. Try not to wear out the DVR.

Mr. 99...

Sometimes I have been a little too harsh towards you...please forgive me. You DO have a very good eye for the fundamentals of the game and usually a VERY ACCURATE analysis--both before and after.

Thanks for these kind words and the humility to post them in a hostile environment---TRUE CLASS!

In the spirit of honesty---I did predict a Vol win, and was confident that we were the better team.

However--at HALF-TIME...I must confess that I had lost all hope and had given up completely on any chance of winning. I believed that McElwain had Shoop's number and that was all there was to it. A better coaching staff with better talent at the skill positions of Gator WRs versus Vol CBs....He seemed to have an answer for everything we attempted to do defensively--even with a back-up QB.

And I still don't understand why McElwain didn't try to throw the ball down the field more than he did....We STILL DON'T have ANY CB who can cover 81 or 89 in man coverage....

Do you have any thoughts concerning Fla's play-calling in the 2nd half? :hi:

I'm sure this sounds like a broken record, but classy post good sir. I enjoy being able to discuss football with opposing fans that are respectful and know the game. Unfortunately, most of the time, regardless of the team, you go on ESPN, CBS, Fox Sports and the comment sections are filled with hate being spewed and cursing about how X team sucks and didn't deserve it anyway.

Keep posting good sir, but I still hope you all finish 3-9.

This is someone who understands football. Josh Dobbs greatest asset is beating blitzes, most times with his legs and occasionally with his arm against man coverage. His biggest weakness throwing against zone coverage. FU played right into our hands in the second half.
FU's offense was living on welfare in the first half and a certain defender was writing the checks. Tennessee was in the shadow of the goal posts 3 times in the first half and scored 0.

Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully, this will become a premier game on the college football calendar again soon.

Thanks for being classy 99, I never had a problem with you because you are a Florida fan. I have a few friends that are Florida fans but a jackass for brother in law that is a Florida fan. Fans have different views because they are certain fans of other schools and are very biased and you tell it the way it is whether good or bad for gators or Vols.
