Hard to imagine him not taking it. WR/Recruiting Coord. = more $

Good Luck Frank.

Frank Wilson is leaving UT to join LSU's coaching staff as running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. Story to post shortly on GVX.

I'm sure coach Kiffen already has somebody in mine, and I trust that he will bring in someone else that is very capable of doing the job and someone who can recruit considering that recruiting is the lifeline....

I wish Coach Wilson the best. Promotion and double salary? I'd left too!

Remember - Kiffin said early on he wanted to build a program that wasn't only winning and developing players for the NFL. He wanted his assistant coaches to be hot commodities as well.

Good Luck Frank.

True, it's a good sign that all these teams are looking at Tennessee to find their next coaches. You can't blame a guy for taking a job in his home state for more money. Good luck coach Wilson, thanks for the past year. :hi:

A quick story:

I had a buddy that had been dating a girl for a while...she came to him one day and told him that she had a job offer in Italy and was going to take it unless he thought the relationship would go to the next level. His response: "Arrivederci"

Bonjour Frank Wilson.

Frank will do well there. LSU recruits well anyway, and it being home (to him) helps.

Another thing to point out, is the selling point to future staff members.

This move is easy to understand. I mean the guy is from NOLA. They doubled his salary and made him recruiting cordinator. They see the talent in La. next year. They have to lock that state up. If we would have matched I would think they may have paid him even more.

You have to pick your battles. To me Gran is more important. Hopefully we can lock him down to a multi year contract. I have no doubt Coach Kiffin already has someone in mind. We will be fine. Best of luck to Coach Wilson. I understand his choice.

Seriously? I hate to be Herr Spell Checker, but he's been here a year.

I agree. Almost anyone would make this change - if the salary was doubled.

Only thing I dont like is he knows the targets we have for 2011 and 2012 that may not be on the radar yet

Unless it is against UT, best of luck to you coach. Will be interesting to see where Kiffin goes to replace him. What are the top names that would be a likely replacement?
