I'm not calling out any posters, nor asking for any Vol fan cards to be turned in...

but let's hope that by virtue of this win that we as Vol fans can muster a similar level of confidence as the players on team #117.

They've clearly demonstrated in the past few games that they've bought in and WILL NOT quit. So if they're still playing to win in the 3rd quarter, as an example... then why should we, as fans, give up on them? This is a new team, playing for a new coaching staff, but it seems some of our fans can't get over the past few years.

I understand the feelings, I understand what seems to be an unending streak of bad breaks, but it's time to let it go. It's time to move on. It's time to become a fountain.

It's called confidence. Try getting some.

It's hard to be confident after the past 5 years. Get over yourself and enjoy the win. GBO.

It's easy to be confident when you realize this team has little in common with those of the past five years. They've shown improvement throughout the season.

You can keep thinking about the past five years if you want, but I'd rather cheer for team #117.

I'm not one to like fluff posts but the players have confidence and they have lived thru the past 5 years while we have only watched it.

I'm just stating that's it's a mind state that's become associated w UT football. While I love this team just as much as anyone it's human nature to doubt after the things we've been thru. There's nothing wrong with that.

After all the negativity and nit-picking that has gone on the last several years it has been such a pleasent surprise this feeling of unity that has taken over Volnation, I love it.

Excellent point. :good!:

As I stated in my original post... I understand the sentiment. My point however, as volKano correctly stated, is that the players (especially the seniors) have had it much worse than we have. If they've bought in, which seems to be the case, then we as fans should show a little confidence as well.

This thread is idiotic. Fans need confidence? If you went to either of the last two home games, you would have seen a fan base that stayed until the last whistle and cheered themselves hoarse for the Vols until the end.

And if you'd read through the game thread in this forum you'd see posts from a host of fans who gave up in the third quarter, and continue to spew negativity toward some of our players.

This morning I said: " glad the game is at noon today...I prefer losing earlier than later."

Won't utter those words again this season! It feels awesome to win! Never stopped loving them...but, finally, I have a little confidence in my VOLS.

and confidence in PALARDY!!!! Wow! What a difference a year/new coach makes!
