Confidence: This team has it now. Not just in their ability, but in what they are doing. I think they finally get it. They understand what it takes to win and to be able to come out and do what they're doing tonight say a lot about how far they've come. South Carolina isn't a top teir team by any means, but being able to maintain throughout this game and just dominate them is promising.

Momentum: Going along the same lines as the confidence, they're getting hot right now. It seems that the past few years we've peaked mid-season and by tourney time, they were going through the motions and weren't able to capture the fire and the momentum they had throughout the season. Perhaps just now winning 3 in a row is a good sign of what they may be able to overcome historically in the SEC tournament.

Freshness: Hopson is the one that makes me really believe in this. We've jostled our line up so often this season that beyond Tyler, JP, and Chism, everyone has been in and out of the line up. The youth that we have hasn't had to deal with the grind that could wear them down by this time if they'd been logging 30 minutes a game all season long. It could pay dividends as well.

Bobby Knight: It's a pleasure to listen to him call the game. His insight is great and knowing that he's watching the game truly from a coaches perspective and telling you exactly what he'd think as a coach is refreshing. It's nice to see the magnitude of this game get called by someone so brilliant and who is capable of giving you exactly what you want from an "announcer".

I concur. I love Bobby's insight on the games. He was calling plays before they happened and giving such great analysis. I hope ESPN keeps him around for a while.

agree with you on Knight he is what you want in a game with great insight.

CRMK isn't the smoothest speaking analyst out there, but he certainly appreciates many of the subtleties of the game that the loud slurpers omit these days.

Question: Bob said the first goal tending on USCjr wasn't a goal tending.... but I swear it was but he was pretty adamant it wasn't. I am pretty sure they adjusted the rule recently - but it had already had the back board anyway when Holmes or whoever it was slapped it. So what was it?

The second one was a pretty obvious goal tending though that wasn't called.

I enjoyed listening to a basketball coach call a game instead of hyping up to the crowd. Knight is pretty good.

When Bobby Knight retires from being a commentator, I'm going to cry.

Excellent point on Knight/Musberger, I was so happy they called the game tonight. Nice break away from Twiddle Dee and Tweedle Dumb on Raycom, who we'll be hearing from all next week at the SEC tourney.

Yes, it actualy was goaltending. The ball was off the glass BEFORE the USC player hit it. Knight got that one wrong.
Also, I like Knight a lot, but he was a little mistaken on Prince's celebration. Coach Knight seemed to think Prince was showing out for the crowd or taunting Carolina. I think we all know he was jawing at our own bench because he just hit a 3. Yes folks, JP Prince hit a 3! and our bench was going nuts!

Well he actually was backing up and he did play D. But it is good to know that there are the true hard core stoen cold Pros like you who can play without emotion.

had I pulled the garbage he does after every basket of his own, I would have been benched at every turn by every coach I ever had, jr. pro through college.

Coach Knight is such a pleasure to listen to. I noticed he commented on how we started out not playing tight on the 3's. He made an insightful comment that you have to disrupt the shooters hands. You can't let them get set its too late. Our guys played outstanding D in the second half and really contested shots. GO VOLS!

And now your on a message board posting and Prince is playing on ESPN prime time. Your point?
You can't take the emotion out of an emotional player and still expect them to be a good player. Prince is hustling as hard or harder than anyone. He also make dumb emotional tyoe decisions.
I love how everyone jumps on this team for having "no heart" when they loose but too much emotion when they win. I have absolutely no problem with them being fired up aftert a big play, as emotional swings are huge in college BB. Now if he was taunting the other team I would have a problem.

By the way, my HS coach benched people for dunking, so just cause that is how it was doesn;t mean it makes it right.

he shows the same stupid emotion every time he scores, whether we're winning or getting killed. He is one of the main focus issues on this team and that reaction is simply an indicator of the problem. He's more interested in talking smack and looking good than he is winning ballgames. That attitude has murdered this basketball team, regardless of ESPN.

Benching people for dunking is stupid. Benching them for taunting and not hustling back is how it is done by the buys who win most.

I agree Knight is good, but he needs better pre-game research. He mainly talked about UT's press when we just haven't pressed much at all this year.

Yes. Prince's attitude is really getting annoying. I'm glad that he cares, but he's caring about the wrong thing. If he hits a layup he acts like he hit the GW shot. Boy, I don't know what he would do if he hit the GW shot. He may literally go crazy.

Hey Big Papa, quit watching the games then you pompous jerk! You really think that you have any clue what motivates any other human, just because you don't like the way he shows emotion? Prince has stepped it up tremendously. Why do you think you can tell what he is thinking? Because when you played no one ever showed emotion? He gets fired up after dunks and his very rare 3's. So what. You assume that it is to glorify himself. But you assume. Everyday you are sufring the net, between porn and desk chair critique of ahtletics, those guys are busting their butts to get better for UT.
If you don't like Prince, then I am sure Bama or someone else could use your insightt.

And he was not taunting, which was my original point. He was looking right at our bench, which had just exploded at his 3 pointer.

Also, saying attitude has killed this team is a weak crutch. If you say it is attitude, then you can justify being pissed at the playyers and calling them out online. If you face up to the fact that we really have no shooters, lost our top 4 guards, and have 5 guys on the team who had never played together before, then you can't be outraged on your favorite message board.
