Since I've got some free time at work today:good!:, I'll give a rundown of predictions for each team. Here's what I got:

Alabama (8-4; 5-3)
I think you can expect similar results out of Bama as last year, but expect them to win the close ones.

Sept. 1 Western Carolina W 38-7
Sept. 8 at Vanderbilt W 22-20
Sept. 15 Arkansas L 20-33
Sept. 22 Georgia W 41-30
Sept. 29 Florida State L 15-23
Oct. 6 Houston W 41-24
Oct. 13 at Ole Miss W 24-17
Oct. 20 Tennessee L 14-24
Nov. 3 LSU L 31-34
Nov. 10 at Mississippi State W 20-19
Nov. 17 UL Monroe W 50-6
Nov. 24 at Auburn W 28-25

Arkansas (8-4; 4-4)
Although it seems logical to me to expect a dropoff in Arkansas this year, my gut says they are going to manage to scheme some wins this year. Best backfield in the nation with two of the top 5 running backs in the nation, IMO.

Sept. 1 Troy W 31-17
Sept. 15 at Alabama W 33-20
Sept. 22 Kentucky W 40-27
Sept. 29 North Texas W 59-14
Oct. 6 Chattanooga W 52-9
Oct. 13 Auburn L 13-16
Oct. 20 at Ole Miss W 28-27
Oct. 27 Florida International W 41-7
Nov. 3 South Carolina L 27-31
Nov. 10 at Tennessee L 24-34
Nov. 17 Mississippi State L 21-23
Nov. 24 at LSU W 34-30

Auburn (6-6; 3-5)
I expect Auburn to take some hits early on in the season, but as they get more experienced, the offense will start develop.

Sept. 1 Kansas State L 20-27
Sept. 8 South Florida W 13-7
Sept. 15 Mississippi State W 20-7
Sept. 22 New Mexico State W 38-3
Sept. 29 at Florida L 24-30
Oct. 6 Vanderbilt L 18-22
Oct. 13 at Arkansas W 16-13
Oct. 20 at LSU L 41-13
Oct. 27 Ole Miss W 30-21
Nov. 3 Tennessee Tech W 45-7
Nov. 10 at Georgia L 32-41
Nov. 24 Alabama L 25-28

Florida (8-4; 5-3)
I expect the offense to start off strong, but as the heat of the SEC turns up, this Gator team is going to lose steam.

Sept. 1 Western Kentucky W 41-20
Sept. 8 Troy W 38-3
Sept. 15 Tennessee W 24-21
Sept. 22 at Ole Miss W 20-14
Sept. 29 Auburn W 30-24
Oct. 6 at LSU L 18-35
Oct. 20 at Kentucky W 21-10
Oct. 27 Georgia L 24-30
Nov. 3 Vanderbilt W 23-20
Nov. 10 at South Carolina L 21-30
Nov. 17 Florida Atlantic W 40-3
Nov. 24 Florida State L 24-34

Georgia (7-5; 5-3)
Makes me think a lot of the Gators. Expect a strong offense and a young, but stout defense. Improves as the year goes on.

Sept. 1 Oklahoma State L 20-41
Sept. 8 South Carolina L 21-27
Sept. 15 Western Carolina W 37-6
Sept. 22 at Alabama L 30-41
Sept. 29 Ole Miss W 30-17
Oct. 6 at Tennessee L 17-22
Oct. 13 at Vanderbilt W 31-17
Oct. 27 Florida W 30-24
Nov. 3 Troy W 34-21
Nov. 10 Auburn W 41-32
Nov. 17 Kentucky W 27-25
Nov. 24 at Georgia Tech L 35-14

Kentucky (7-5; 3-5)
I know their a popular pick to compete, but I just don't buy it. They will be good, similar to last year. Defense will have to step it up, and with 8 starters returning, could happen.

Sept. 1 Eastern Kentucky W 46-23
Sept. 8 Kent State W 50-14
Sept. 15 Louisville W 33-30 (turns out to be one of the best games of the year)
Sept. 22 at Arkansas L 27-40
Sept. 29 Florida Atlantic W 38-17
Oct. 4 at South Carolina L 24-28
Oct. 13 LSU W 24-16
Oct. 20 Florida L 10-21
Oct. 27 Mississippi State W 34-30
Nov. 10 at Vanderbilt W 34-22
Nov. 17 at Georgia L 25-27
Nov. 24 Tennessee L 21-34

LSU (10-2; 6-2)
They'll be just about as good as everyone says they are, but it's a tough schedule and it will wear them down.

Aug. 30 at Mississippi State W 48-13
Sept. 8 Virginia Tech W 24-13
Sept. 15 Middle Tennessee W 37-7
Sept. 22 South Carolina W 28-20
Sept. 29 at Tulane W 45-6
Oct. 6 Florida W 35-18
Oct. 13 at Kentucky L 16-24
Oct. 20 Auburn W 41-13
Nov. 3 at Alabama W 34-31
Nov. 10 Louisiana Tech W 48-14
Nov. 17 at Ole Miss W 13-7
Nov. 23 Arkansas L 30-34

Ole Miss (3-9; 0-8)
Expect a stronger offense than last year, and a solid, but diminished, defensive effort.

Sept. 1 at Memphis W 24-18
Sept. 8 Missouri L 38-27
Sept. 15 at Vanderbilt L 21-35
Sept. 22 Florida L 14-20
Sept. 29 at Georgia L 17-30
Oct. 6 Louisiana Tech W 31-20
Oct. 13 Alabama L 17-24
Oct. 20 Arkansas L 27-28
Oct. 27 at Auburn L 21-30
Nov. 3 Northwestern State W 34-7
Nov. 17 LSU L 7-13
Nov. 23 at Mississippi State L 27-40

Mississippi State (5-7, 2-6)
To me, this will be this year's SEC surprise team (a la Kentucky last year). Expect a competent offense and solid defense to play some teams close and maybe score a few wins.

Aug. 30 LSU L 13-48
Sept. 8 at Tulane W 38-13
Sept. 15 at Auburn L 7-20
Sept. 22 Jacksonville State W 37-0
Sept. 29 at South Carolina L 27-30
Oct. 6 UAB W 24-20
Oct. 13 Tennessee L 17-31
Oct. 20 at West Virginia L 34-35
Oct. 27 at Kentucky L 30-34
Nov. 10 Alabama L 19-20
Nov. 17 at Arkansas W 23-21
Nov. 23 Ole Miss W 40-27

South Carolina (9-3; 5-3)
I expect another adequate offense and stellar defense. Plays everyone close, and the ball bounces their way more often.

Sept. 1 UL Lafayette W 37-3
Sept. 8 at Georgia W 27-21
Sept. 15 South Carolina State W 40-6
Sept. 22 at LSU L 20-28
Sept. 29 Mississippi State W 30-27
Oct. 4 Kentucky W 28-24
Oct. 13 at North Carolina W 27-18
Oct. 20 Vanderbilt L 14-10
Oct. 27 at Tennessee L 14-34
Nov. 3 at Arkansas W 31-27
Nov. 10 Florida W 30-21
Nov. 24 Clemson W 20-17

Tennessee (11-1; 7-1)
May take some time for the offense to get going, but expect one of the better Vol defenses over the past few years.

Sept. 1 at California W 31-20
Sept. 8 Southern Miss W 26-14
Sept. 15 at Florida L 21-24
Sept. 22 Arkansas State W 47-3
Oct. 6 Georgia W 22-17
Oct. 13 at Mississippi State W 31-17
Oct. 20 at Alabama W 24-14
Oct. 27 South Carolina W 34-14
Nov. 3 UL Lafayette W 38-10
Nov. 10 Arkansas W 34-24
Nov. 17 Vanderbilt W 28-13
Nov. 24 at Kentucky W 34-21

Vanderbilt (6-6; 2-6)I expect another pretty solid team this year. May make things very interesting in the SEC by playing teams close. Makes a bowl game.

Sept. 1 Richmond W 31-3
Sept. 8 Alabama L 20-22
Sept. 15 Ole Miss W 35-21
Sept. 29 Eastern Michigan W 44-35
Oct. 6 at Auburn W 22-18
Oct. 13 Georgia L 31-17
Oct. 20 at South Carolina L 10-14
Oct. 27 Miami (Ohio) W 31-20
Nov. 3 at Florida L 20-23
Nov. 10 Kentucky L 22-34
Nov. 17 at Tennessee L 13-28
Nov. 24 Wake Forest W 34-28 (I consider Wake will field a pretty good football team this year, so I am calling this an "upset".)

CONFERENCE STANDINGS

EAST
Tennessee (7-1)
S. Carolina (5-3)
Georgia (5-3)
Florida (5-3)
Kentucky (3-5)
Vanderbilt (2-6)

WEST
LSU (6-2)

SEC Championship Game

Tenn Vs. LSU

1st Quarter: Tenn 14, LSU 7
2nd Quarter: Tenn 17, LSU 17
3rd Quarter: Tenn 31, LSU 17
4th Quarter: Tenn 38, LSU 20

Tennessee wins 38-20

Haha, a bit of a homer's consideration, but I find it quite realistic. Took a while. What do you think? Or would you like to submit another whole conference worth of predictions?

I just don't see how the SEC can have a 46-50 record in conference.

I feel like that was harsh. You were really only 2 games off from the right amount, and I certainly would be too lazy to do that and keep track of the games.

46-50 conference record. That's why they say the SEC is such a tough conference. It can't even get to .500 against itself!

Seriously, the problem is you have agame somewhere in there where both teams have a loss. South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt. Both teams lost that game.

There may be another of those games where no one lost.

Kentucky-Florida. No one won that game either.

There, it balances out! It was driving me nuts to see something you put so much time into and had such high entertainment/distraction value to me have a bug in it. I just had to seek it out.

So fix those two games' outcomes, and it should be good.:good!:

I´m all for saying that UK beats UF. :)

After getting shellacked by LSU last year 49-0, I don´t see the Cats taking one from the Tigers this fall.

Fixed. Haha. Thank you very much for finally finding it. That takes work. I forgot I finally picked Florida to win it. I hope you were very entertained and distracted reading this!:peace2:

I just see the Fla.-LSU game being a pretty physical game in which LSU might be beat up pretty bad, even if they win. And if the game is at night, for some reason I would favor the Wildcats even more.

Crazy things happen at night at Commonwealth. The Bourbon will be flowing freely, and the Bluebloods will be screaming for Tiger blood after the 2002 Miracle in the Bluegrass.

maybe ya shoulda taken a little longer? hahaha just kidding....you didn't give our fair conference a whole lot of praise, but i'll settle if you're right. haha

although i don't get how arkansas loses to south carolina and miss st, then beats LSU after losing 3 in a row if you throw tennessee in there. haha

So we lose to Vandy yet beat Florida? Hmmmm.

Heck, you can color South Carolina 9-3 any which way you want and I'll take it, even if it meant a loss to SC State!

Thought now would be a good chance to do an early review.

Preseason Prediction
Alabama (8-4; 5-3)

Sept. 1 Western Carolina W 38-7
Sept. 8 at Vanderbilt W 22-20
Sept. 15 Arkansas L 20-33
Sept. 22 Georgia W 41-30
Sept. 29 Florida State L 15-23
Oct. 6 Houston W 41-24
Oct. 13 at Ole Miss W 24-17
Oct. 20 Tennessee L 14-24
Nov. 3 LSU L 31-34
Nov. 10 at Mississippi State W 20-19
Nov. 17 UL Monroe W 50-6
Nov. 24 at Auburn W 28-25

At this point, I am right on track with Alabama at 3-2, though I flip flopped the Arkansas and Georgia games.

Preseason Prediction

Arkansas (8-4; 4-4)

Sept. 1 Troy W 31-17
Sept. 15 at Alabama W 33-20
Sept. 22 Kentucky W 40-27
Sept. 29 North Texas W 59-14
Oct. 6 Chattanooga W 52-9
Oct. 13 Auburn L 13-16
Oct. 20 at Ole Miss W 28-27
Oct. 27 Florida International W 41-7
Nov. 3 South Carolina L 27-31
Nov. 10 at Tennessee L 24-34
Nov. 17 Mississippi State L 21-23
Nov. 24 at LSU W 34-30

I'll be the first to say I was wrong on this one. I expected the razorbacks to fall apart later in the year. I had them at 5-0 after this coming weekend, but now they are only looking at the 3-2.

Preseason Prediction

Auburn (6-6; 3-5)

Sept. 1 Kansas State L 20-27
Sept. 8 South Florida W 13-7
Sept. 15 Mississippi State W 20-7
Sept. 22 New Mexico State W 38-3
Sept. 29 at Florida L 24-30
Oct. 6 Vanderbilt L 18-22
Oct. 13 at Arkansas W 16-13
Oct. 20 at LSU L 41-13
Oct. 27 Ole Miss W 30-21
Nov. 3 Tennessee Tech W 45-7
Nov. 10 at Georgia L 32-41
Nov. 24 Alabama L 25-28

This one really boggles me, but at least I got the numbers in place. I predicted Auburn to be 3-2 at this point, which they are, but I thought K. State would beat them as well as Florida.

Preseason Prediction

Florida (8-4; 5-3)

Sept. 1 Western Kentucky W 41-20
Sept. 8 Troy W 38-3
Sept. 15 Tennessee W 24-21
Sept. 22 at Ole Miss W 20-14
Sept. 29 Auburn W 30-24
Oct. 6 at LSU L 18-35
Oct. 20 at Kentucky W 21-10
Oct. 27 Georgia L 24-30
Nov. 3 Vanderbilt W 23-20
Nov. 10 at South Carolina L 21-30
Nov. 17 Florida Atlantic W 40-3
Nov. 24 Florida State L 24-34

Thought Florida would be undefeated at this point, but I think they'll actually be 4-2 after this next weekend.

Preseason Prediction

Georgia (7-5; 5-3)

Sept. 1 Oklahoma State L 20-41
Sept. 8 South Carolina L 21-27
Sept. 15 Western Carolina W 37-6
Sept. 22 at Alabama L 30-41
Sept. 29 Ole Miss W 30-17
Oct. 6 at Tennessee L 17-22
Oct. 13 at Vanderbilt W 31-17
Oct. 27 Florida W 30-24
Nov. 3 Troy W 34-21
Nov. 10 Auburn W 41-32
Nov. 17 Kentucky W 27-25
Nov. 24 at Georgia Tech L 35-14

Georgia has been somewhat surprising. They just wind up winning games, usually. I had them at 2-3 to this point, but they are coming into the UT game a surprising 4-1.

Preseason Prediction

Kentucky (7-5; 3-5)

Sept. 1 Eastern Kentucky W 46-23
Sept. 8 Kent State W 50-14
Sept. 15 Louisville W 33-30 (turns out to be one of the best games of the year)
Sept. 22 at Arkansas L 27-40
Sept. 29 Florida Atlantic W 38-17
Oct. 4 at South Carolina L 24-28
Oct. 13 LSU W 24-16
Oct. 20 Florida L 10-21
Oct. 27 Mississippi State W 34-30
Nov. 10 at Vanderbilt W 34-22
Nov. 17 at Georgia L 25-27
Nov. 24 Tennessee L 21-34

Glad I picked them to beat Louisville. Had them at 4-1, but that Arkansas win really surprised me and they are cruising at 5-0 into S. Carolina.

Preseason Prediction

LSU(10-2; 6-2)

Aug. 30 at Mississippi State W 48-13
Sept. 8 Virginia Tech W 24-13
Sept. 15 Middle Tennessee W 37-7
Sept. 22 South Carolina W 28-20
Sept. 29 at Tulane W 45-6
Oct. 6 Florida W 35-18
Oct. 13 at Kentucky L 16-24
Oct. 20 Auburn W 41-13
Nov. 3 at Alabama W 34-31
Nov. 10 Louisiana Tech W 48-14
Nov. 17 at Ole Miss W 13-7
Nov. 23 Arkansas L 30-34

About where I had them.

Preseason Prediction

Ole Miss (3-9; 0-8)

Sept. 1 at Memphis W 24-18
Sept. 8 Missouri L 38-27
Sept. 15 at Vanderbilt L 21-35
Sept. 22 Florida L 14-20
Sept. 29 at Georgia L 17-30
Oct. 6 Louisiana Tech W 31-20
Oct. 13 Alabama L 17-24
Oct. 20 Arkansas L 27-28
Oct. 27 at Auburn L 21-30
Nov. 3 Northwestern State W 34-7
Nov. 17 LSU L 7-13
Nov. 23 at Mississippi State L 27-40

Seems I am 100% with Ole Miss right now, too bad for them!

Preseason Prediction

Miss. State (5-7, 2-6)

Aug. 30 LSU L 13-48
Sept. 8 at Tulane W 38-13
Sept. 15 at Auburn L 7-20
Sept. 22 Jacksonville State W 37-0
Sept. 29 at South Carolina L 27-30
Oct. 6 UAB W 24-20
Oct. 13 Tennessee L 17-31
Oct. 20 at West Virginia L 34-35
Oct. 27 at Kentucky L 30-34
Nov. 10 Alabama L 19-20
Nov. 17 at Arkansas W 23-21
Nov. 23 Ole Miss W 40-27

I was pretty sure that the Bulldogs would improve this year. I didn't see the Auburn upset coming though. I thought they'd be 2-3 at this point, but they are a surprising 3-2. They'll beat bama again. W. Virginia game could be interesting.

Preseason Prediction

South Carolina (9-3; 5-3)

Sept. 1 UL Lafayette W 37-3
Sept. 8 at Georgia W 27-21
Sept. 15 South Carolina State W 40-6
Sept. 22 at LSU L 20-28
Sept. 29 Mississippi State W 30-27
Oct. 4 Kentucky W 28-24
Oct. 13 at North Carolina W 27-18
Oct. 20 Vanderbilt L 14-10
Oct. 27 at Tennessee L 14-34
Nov. 3 at Arkansas W 31-27
Nov. 10 Florida W 30-21
Nov. 24 Clemson W 20-17

4-1 right now, just as I had them.

Preseason Prediction

Tennessee (11-1; 7-1)

Sept. 1 at California W 31-20
Sept. 8 Southern Miss W 26-14
Sept. 15 at Florida L 21-24
Sept. 22 Arkansas State W 47-3
Oct. 6 Georgia W 22-17
Oct. 13 at Mississippi State W 31-17
Oct. 20 at Alabama W 24-14
Oct. 27 South Carolina W 34-14
Nov. 3 UL Lafayette W 38-10
Nov. 10 Arkansas W 34-24
Nov. 17 Vanderbilt W 28-13
Nov. 24 at Kentucky W 34-21

Oh boy was I wrong here. After getting lumped in the only big games we've played. I expect TN to lose another 3 or 4 games. If that happens, someone's gonna get booted.

Preseason Prediction

Vanderbilt (6-6; 2-6)

Sept. 1 Richmond W 31-3
Sept. 8 Alabama L 20-22
Sept. 15 Ole Miss W 35-21
Sept. 29 Eastern Michigan W 44-35
Oct. 6 at Auburn W 22-18
Oct. 13 Georgia L 31-17
Oct. 20 at South Carolina L 10-14
Oct. 27 Miami (Ohio) W 31-20
Nov. 3 at Florida L 20-23
Nov. 10 Kentucky L 22-34
Nov. 17 at Tennessee L 13-28
Nov. 24 Wake Forest W 34-28 (I consider Wake will field a pretty good football team this year, so I am calling this an "upset".)

Thought they'd play bama closer, but I am right on track with Vandy at 3-1 right now, primed for an Auburn upset.

I just felt I would go over these predictions, which seem somewhat valid considering I'm the only person I know that said Colorado would beat Oklahoma.

The mistakes made thus far in the season are all fixable. If the Vols improve, they've got a good shot to win the rest.

1. Our offensive line hasn't consistently run blocked in several years.

2. Our defensive line is understocked. I'm not sure how you fix talent issues.

3. Our special teams have stunk for years.

I don't see why we should expect those issues to get fixed if they haven't already been fixed. But I hope they do.

The thing that pisses me off about that is Jacque and Vlad create so much more of a push up front and they don't start at the guard spots. Anthony Parker is not going to physically dominant a DL like Vlad and Jacque can.

An underized defensive line isn't fixable. Our tackling under John Chavis's tutelage isn't fixable. Special teams play isn't fixable at this point. Our lack of of downfield threats isn't fixable (staff is too reluctant to plug O'Neal and Paige into the rotation). I'm not sure our run blocking is fixable, either. The "mistakes" are too plentiful for a complete revitalization, allvol. No way Tennessee wins the rest.
