Isn't it at least refreshing to see UT's name on the list (near the top) of some serious talent? We were spoiled and used to it for years and would win many of the battles in recruiting over our top competiton. Well, It's back!!

I posted this in response to many of you feeling Cortez McDowell will commit soon! I don't know if this is just pure speculation and desire, but he is highly sought after and would be a HUGE addition. It would be winning a recruiting battle over Alabama and other top programs! His offer list is very impressive!

Is it likely that we land McDowell? If so, based on what knowledge? Just wishful hoping?

Tennessee needs to pony up and pay these assistants. UT is notorious for not paying coaches and we can't ever hang on to assistants. So, instead of raising them and paying them more than their weight we have a revolving door and endless cycle of "starting over" every couple of years with assistants.

The good thing is that mosy have them have been a part of CBJ staff for a while and I doubt they'd leave just for a little more money.

Winning recruiting battles requires some serious $$$ and bending the rules a bit. alabubba, the barn, and ole miss are good at manipulating said rules. :shhh:

These mentioned also have a long history of arrogantly breaking the rules out in the open with the attitude that they don't care that everyone knows they cheat. They have a sense of intitlement when it comes to cheating. Look how many times Barn has been on probation and also look at how severe Bammers has been. They don't care, so long they have glory every so often.

I agree, but unfortunately, that's what happens when we're also paying big bucks to coaches that are no longer here. Dooley? $5,000,000 Sal? $1,000,000. UTAD is not in good financial shape right now.

You're only going to have glory every so often anyways. Might as well try and do it respectively! Which it seems like bUTch is doing!

No school is completely clean. None...

The term rocky top fund wasn't from a fundraiser. Btw, Garner garnered the nickname 'bag man' in the 90s. Even Vandy under Franklin is now in the same boat, just before they didn't care enough to 'compete'. But yes, some schools flaunt it, ie, AU and Clemson.
