Compared to last year

I've never heard of college players organizing their own mini-camp. Do I believe the coaches had some say, privately? Yeah, but for this to actually come together, and have so many players show up is incredible.

Remember, I'm a big believer that turnovers and close games are variance. However, I do concede that the phrase that "good luck is preparation met with opportunity" is spot on. The opportunities to get turnovers and win close games are there year after year, and this Tennessee squad seems more prepared and more disciplined that I can remember.

I'm also extremely gullible when it comes to coachspeak.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Special teams play speaks volumes about your talent level because the majority of your coverage and blocking teams are usually your young playmakers and back ups.
you're not going to get an argument out of me.......

QB: +1 Not enough can be said about a second year with David Cutcliffe. I don't think he's an amazing OC, but his QB teaching skills are amazing.

RB: E This could end up being a +1 if Foster's offseason determination translates to production. For now, E.

WR: -2 This could be a -3 or an E, depending on production. At this moment, we don't have a proven playmaker.

OL: E This is one of two places where, after the season, you could say +1 or +2. The unit is gelling a lot, and while we lost Sears, we have more experience on the line than we did going into 2006.

DL: E 2nd place where I expect a +1 or +2 postseason eval. Bolden is showing consistency, Mapu is a player. Last season we had only 13 sacks - I guarantee we double it.

LB: +1 Ryan Karl needs to get healthy. He's not very athletic, but he puts himself in good spots. The reports on AMW are exciting.

DB: -1 Another spot where we could look back and say "Way better" but right now, it's a downgrade. Wade was solid. Stewart and Morley weren't. If Parrish/McKenzie can live up, hell yeah!

ST: -1 Colquitt was already amazing last year. Losing Wilhoit hurts a lot. Return games needs an infusion, preferably from the speedy new guys.

Overall: -2, but I fully expect an East title and a toss-up chance in the SECCG. Games are on the field, not paper. Different vibe this offseason that I can remember.
The QB, I think given the players, Cut can be effective as offensive coordinator.RB-I hope Foster does step up to the challenge because he is defintely behind the 8-ball with Coker's screwup.DL/OL hopefully will be there. The wr is really a shot in the dark that has to develop quick or we're basically screwed. The dbs, I only hope they're ready. They will be tested early, real early. One weak area could spell doom against the better teams.
