I don't mean to be a homer...but am I the only one who thinks certain commentators are taking more than their share of shots at us right now?

Before anyone accuses me of being too sensitive or wearing orange goggles...I know they are unfortunately right and our program(i.e. those in charge of it) deserve to be ridiculed for how far they have let such a storied program fall...

But do any of you think that people like the guy on CBS(not Lundquist...the other guy), Chris Low and John Adams are taking more than their share of shots at UT right now...

Everyone knows that UT sucks right now...fans, media types, non-fans....everyone...it's no secret...

But those particular guys insist on not only repeating how bad we suck but also finding sarcastic, humorous, and down right demeaning ways to point it out...

Am I the only one who wants to punch everyone of these guys right in the face?

To be honest, most commentators just homer for the team that seems to be in the lead, and will then switch on a whim if the other team starts to take the lead. The problem for us is that it is so apparent that we are just down right awful, that the commentators don't even do their homer act. The CBS guys are a joke, and that's not just during Tennessee games, they are consistently horrible no matter who they are watching (but I'm more likely to pin that on ol' Vern). ESPN is a give or take experience, sometimes you get a good experience other times they stink.

I want to buy all of them a beer. Anyone who publicly shames Fulmer is OK in my book.

Gary Danielson is the guy with Lundquist, but I think he's very fair.

Really? Are we talking about the same guy? I'm talking about the younger of the two...

I can remember last year against Kentucky...it couldn't have been more obvious who he wanted to win so UGA would get in the SECCG...and that was even before the meltdown that we've seen this year

i would like CBS commentators to be accurate with their calls. i don't know about finding humor, maybe they're stating the obvious. i think chris and adams are trying to be objective. they see what kind of problems the program is having. i'd say they see more than we do.

They will report on his troubles. It's a good thing the pre-show is only a half hour.

I don't mean to imply that I disagree with them..because I don't...that probably makes it worse than if they were being unreasonably biased

But I do feel that those that I mentioned are teeing off...they're not being neutral at all...

Do you think I'm wrong about this?

Keith Jackson HATED Tennessee.

I honestly think he reneged on retiring, just so calling UT winning a NC wouldn't be his last game.

I think they are commenting on what they are seeing.

Wait until they are chortling over 30,000 Bama fans hissing at the '98 National Championship squad from inside Neyland. Then, it will be bad.

man i have been waiting for this thread for a while... the commentators on CBS are always bashing TN... Its a bandwagon thing... when TN is on top they have nuttin to say, but when we have a few issues it becomes the talk of the country...

Maybe if Tennessee didn't suck so bad we wouldn't be having this problem.
I think your on to something there.

As for people just not liking tennessee, thats a load of crap. Bring some hotshot coach in here and they would be slobbering all over us. I hope everyone remembers that when they do.

The thing I had a real problem with was the guy making fun of Crompton. I thought he was playing bad and don't mind announcers pointing out open receivers, etc. , but that guy took it too far. With that being said, I can make fun of my brother, but I will fight anyone else who does.

So the fact that he said, "Tennessee's tradition and pagentry is unmatched in college football" means nothing.

I swear, the only thing that makes me somewhat concerned is the fact that we think every media outlet hates us. ESPN does not hate us, CBS does not hate us. That's just real talk.

You are correct. Danielson is a douche.

There are always bad teams out there. Rarely do they get as much crap from the announcers as UT has this year. To say (at least twice) that the QB was too busy watching the cheerleaders is just wrong. I don't recall ever hearing crap like that from announcers on a featured game.

Not only do I hope that it continues, but I also hope that it increases. Fulmer and his coaching staff need to be fired, and this helps the process move forward.

100% inaccurate. I've met Keith Jackson and discussed football with him. He is a big fan of the UT program, and several other SEC programs as well. He acknowledged that he generally would pull for whichever SEC team had the best chance to win the national championship.

So, you're saying it's been a long, long time since they've had nuttin to say?
