We went 4-8 last year because we had to play a bunch of guys that were CJ's caliber...

It's just extremely sad that many on here think CJ signing as a FA with the Saints validates him as a quality FB player...He's worked hard and has earned a shot....but every team invites these FAs to fall camp and very few actually make the team. It's just a fact of NFL life.

Nevertheless, I am glad that he will get a shot...and wish him the very best.

It validates nothing. The young man busted his ass for UT and now he's got a shot.

Everyone on here giving him **** needs to F off.

I don't hate the kid, nor do I have any criticism of his effort. There's never been a doubt in my mind that CJ gave his all for Tennessee.

But his all just wasn't good enough for a SEC team--just like Kongbo, Kmac, Abernathy (see Fla loss), etc...etc...etc...

And that's just a fact that is underscored by the 4-8 record the team posted last year.

When you are a starting LB on a defensive team that gave up an average of 250+ yards rushing per game...you're just not a very good player...:blink:

^ If something like that even existed, it would be off-topic for this thread. The professionals in New Orleans were impressed enough by Colton Jumper's play to evaluate it. Based on the evidence they observed in their evaluation, they determined he was worthy of the opportunity to play in the NFL as a professional football player.

It was settled by those with the power to settle it. It is an established fact. It is the reality. Pouting about it for whatever garbled and twisted feeling may get the better of you, doesn't contribute anything true, factual, interesting, real, relevant, or positive to the discussion. There was a vocal minority of haters who were exposed when their little smear agenda failed along with them. The only reason anyone would kick up a fuss about a Vol earning an opportunity to play at the next level is if they were one of those failures who spewed that garbage about him and now feel some kind of way about it after their ego got crushed by Jumper's success. You'll capitalize the first letter of his name if you don't want to be wrong about that too.

That's funny - I'm thinking the film is exactly why the Saints gave him a chance. Honestly, comments like that make you look incredibly stupid.

Do you really think the Saints didn't review film on CJ before giving him a shot? They aren't going to waste their time on someone if they didn't think they had a shot. I trust the Saints analysis way more than yours :crazy:
