College Football's Most Expensive Ticket Prices for 2016 Season | Bleacher Report

9. Virginia Tech at Tennessee (Battle at Bristol)

Cheapest ticket: $199.00
Dubbed the "Battle at Bristol," Virginia Tech and Tennessee will square off in a unique neutral-site tilt at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Since the track holds more than 160,000 people on race day, the Sept. 10 meeting is expected to shatter college football's current single-game attendance record of 115,109.
For the thrifty types, East Tennessee State and Western Carolina will play at Bristol the following week. But to watch the Hokies and Vols, you're going to have to pony up $200.

This game is going to be a sight to behold in prime time.

Also our games against Florida and Bama just missed the top 10. Neyland is going to be rocking in 2016

Go Vols

Five games missed the top 10 by less than $10. Unsurprisingly, the Fighting Irish and Crimson Tide make a couple of appearances in this section, as well as an Alabama rival.

  • 15. Notre Dame at North Carolina State: $171.99
  • 14. Alabama at Ole Miss: $172.00
  • 13. Miami at Notre Dame: $172.49
  • 12. Alabama at Tennessee: $176.00
  • 11. Florida at Tennessee: $179.00

The one I'm most confused about being a high ticket game is the Oregon/Nebraska game. Other than the Mike Riley connection, I'm not seeing the big fuss. I'd put the FSU/Clemson match up up there before this game.

Edit: I know actual cost is dictating the rankings, it just surprises me.

Go look at Nebraska's home schedule and it will make more sense. That's the only home game for them to be excited about.

Doesn't Nebraska pretty much sellout every home game? I would say when big OOC opponents come in the prices will soar.

Thank God I had to take an extra semester. Never going to get $10 tickets in the first 20 rows the rest of my life.

You lucky devil. :)

Hmmm... Not to throw dirt on anyone, but I wonder how these previous two posters did in Economics or Finance. So let me see, your choices are: Graduate and then have to pay what someone feels is full price for a ticket at, say, $200. Alternatively, you can stay in school for another semester at roughly $5000 just so you can pay $10 for a student ticket. Seriously?!!

I'm not sure I can say much else on this topic. Either way, GO VOLS!!!

Or rather I was misadvised my freshman year which led to me needing to take a 9th semester to graduate with a degree in microbiology... and I say thank God I have to take it because there is no way I could afford one of these tickets until I find a suitable job in my field. And I suck at econ.

Or maybe he's a smart kid who got some scholarships and gets the fringe benefits of cheap tickets? The glass if half full my friend.

Ummm, sorry - he's in school and going to football games for another semester. Graduate and then you work the REST OF YOUR LIFE. Sure you did well in Economics and Finance and enjoying your work week while he will be going to Frat parties. (And by the way, I am an accountant).
