As I prepare to tailgate this weekend I was curious as to other people's tailgating traditions or other school's tailgating traditions.

I recently graduated from Indiana University in the spring and despite what some may believe tailgating there was quite intense. Most games would start at noon so we'd roll outa bed around 8 or on ocassion pull all nighters, start off with a power hour then head to the tailgating "fields" about 3 hours prior to kick off. We'd continue to drink heavily and mingle there until kickoff. After kickoff we would remain in the tailgating fields and continue to drink heavily. Drinking took precedent over actually watching the Hoosiers.

This weekend I will be heading up to Purdue to catch their game against Notre Dame (i am originally from Boilermaker country). At Purdue they do it a little different. They have something called "Breakfast Club" where you dress up in costumes and go to the campus bars at 7 am. Lines begin before 6. I will be embarking on my second Breakfast Club experience as Taylor Swift (my friend is going to be Kanye) early Saturday starting off with some beer pong at my bud's place directly behind the bars around 6 am and will be headed to bars by 7 or 8 to get nice and zooted before noon. Wish me luck.

Now let's hear yours..

That is awesome.

My tailgate traditions aren't that grate. My game day usually starts with a 6am Rocky Top wake up (regardless of kick off time). From there I get ready, head down stairs, grab the pre-packed cooler, pour a stiffy for my treck to the tailgate, and head out the door. My arrival to the tailgate always begins with "I am confident we will kick the sh!t out of (insert opposing teams name)". That's always greeted with cheers, and sometimes a shot of jager. Then from there its "see how many bourbon and cokes I can pound" before kick off. Throw in some beer pong, cornhole, cranking up rocky top to 3000 decibles, grilling, and talking about how much better we are than (insert opposing teak). About 45min before kick off, I play the "can you tell I have airplane bottles shoved down my pants" game with anyone in a 3 mile radius. I pour myself one last drink, stumble to the game (but oh so careful that I don't spill my drink). Post game usually involves a lot of sitting, and over the past few years, talking about how lousy we have become talent wise.
