how else do you spin it?? We represented the SECe in the SECCG last year. One team does that and it sure as heck wasn't UGA

We were 2007 SEC East co-champions. We played one great game and luckily it was the right one.

No this isnt the one Donnan's on. This was on ESPN News I believe. I think Donnan's on College Football Live. I could be wrong though.

He might just be on the ESPNU show. On Tuesday's they have a show around noon or so that drops in on Coaches press conferences and Donnan and some other cat comment on College Football.

I wonder what ole' Donnan thinks about the going-ons. More specifically what his pupil Greg Adkins has done with the offensive line.

I said the same thing a few weeks ago, but no more. The season is two thirds over and there has been no improvement at all. I get that between being handcuffed by Fulmer and saddled with ineptitude at the QB position, Clawson was in an impossible position. But I'd also expect an SEC-caliber OC to find a way to make SOMETHING work, somehow. Even just a little. But eight games are in the books, and we're no better now than we were against UCLA. I don't see how Clawson can be considered anything but a colossal failure this year.

Agreed, Clawson has been completely ineffective. I left Neyland Saturday convinced that Clawson would be canned this week, if for nothing else to save Fulmer's job. The running game is a sham, the passing game is a colossal failure and the O-line is the biggest fraud in CFB. The offense is the reason TN is so bad. The offense is terrible. I HATE saying this about my beloved Vols.

I thought he was going to be canned after the Georgia game. Thinking about it, if Fulmer canned Clawson, the heat on Fulmer would turn up even more if that is even possible at this point.

Problem lies at the top. That is clear to everyone. Except those who love playing devil's advocate.

Clawson has been a failure. But in fairness, he wasn't left with much to work with. Crompton or stephens which ever one you want to put in there, they're both ineffective. A O-line that somebody already called the biggest fraud in CFB, i can agree with that. Can't judge the running backs too much because of how bad the o-line sucks. I look around at our receivers and i don't see a julio jones or aj green.

great we got there 2 of the past 5 years. last year was a complete lack of other teams taking care of what they could, the vols fell into the seccg. with that said, have we won it the past 2 times we were in it, NO!!!!!!

He also choked in the SECcg in 2001 when we had alot more talent than LSU.

If he wins that game, we may not be talking about winning a NC 10 years ago, but also 7 years ago.

Yeah I'm not sure why last year is used by the Pro Fulmer crowd so much. We played one great game last year against a good team, UGA. Yes we won the East, but we also had to go to OT to beat South Carolina, 4 OTs to beat Kentucky, and had to fight "like heck" to come back to beat Vandy. Vandy would likely have won had they not roughed the kicker which let UT right back into the game. And Kentucky just had to kick a FG in OT to win and the Vols had a near miracle block.

Then on top of that, we played an LSU team that didn't even have their starting QB. Never has an SEC Championship been served up on a silver platter for us, and we couldn't even win that.

So while many keep saying "We won the East last year", we also were about 3 plays from 6-6.

first, you never say we were 3 plays from anything, winning or losing. it's all in the context of the game. lastly, the sec wasn't served up on a silver platter, with or without lsu's starting qb. that lsu team was not a one player team.
