I was just watching them talk about CFP and his future. I just don't see how people can defend him like they do. The guy in the middle was sayin that all this heat on him was caused by message boards and internet all together, because us(the fans) just keeping adding more fuel and causing others to basically feel how we feel(lol). Then he kept mentioning last year how we won our division and have played in the SEC title game 2 of the past five years, and that CFP was just a "good off. cordinator away" from competing year end and year out. What a load of bull.

we won the east last year solely because other teams failed to take care of business. we weren't in control of our own destiny.

Exactly. Even though we played a good game against LSU, we had no business being there.

The host though was making comments about how UT fans will not want to pack a 100,000+ stadium when you've had 2 losing seasons in the past 5 years.

I think they have to take both sides of the argument to make it interesting and conversational. The one to defend CPF drew the short straw.

Its their job to remain neutral. After he is gone it will be their job to talk about what got him canned, or the events that lead to his resignation or retirement.

I wish we had not won the east last year. I'm so tired of people acting like we got there on merit.

So many commentators have made bold predictions about Fulmer for the last 5 years that they have learned not to take a side. Ask them in person off camera, you will get the real answer.

We did not WIN the east, UF and UGA lost it. We did not earn it, it was a gift.

With the win over GA we won the East, no matter how bad the AL and FL losses were. I'm not going to downplay that incredible game against GA where we straight-up whipped them into submission.

The sports media does this almost every time a coach is on the hotseat. They crucified Alabama for firing Mike Shula, and now they act like hiring Saban is the greatest move in the history of coaching. As I recall, Florida took some heat for pulling the trigger on Zook, and now of course Meyer is regarded as a god. If you make the right hire, all is forgiven.

Agreed. Although UGA had to lose for us to get into the game, we also had to beat them to get in, which we did, decisively.

On the other hand, it's ridiculous that when we beat teams like SC, KY, Vandy, people say we "turned the season around." It used to be that we were expected to beat those teams every year.

I think for the most part what made me a little mad about their opinions, was the guy saying CPF was "one good off. cordinator away" from a good team. I dont think much blame can be placed on Clawson, actually very little blame at all. They brought up coach Cut a few times saying that hes what made the team great on off. and CPF is just the guy that can "stear the ship" where it needs to go with a good off cordinator. It all just seemed really rediculous.

If memory serves me correct isn't Jim Donnan one of the talking heads on that show? It might just be the "Coaches" show on ESPNU.

I said the same thing a few weeks ago, but no more. The season is two thirds over and there has been no improvement at all. I get that between being handcuffed by Fulmer and saddled with ineptitude at the QB position, Clawson was in an impossible position. But I'd also expect an SEC-caliber OC to find a way to make SOMETHING work, somehow. Even just a little. But eight games are in the books, and we're no better now than we were against UCLA. I don't see how Clawson can be considered anything but a colossal failure this year.

No this isnt the one Donnan's on. This was on ESPN News I believe. I think Donnan's on College Football Live. I could be wrong though.
