I think that is it. They didn't have many veteran starters (I think they return 10 starters?). Their big losses were on offense with jarrett, smith, and that stud center (Kallil? or something).

Yep I know all about the O losses (Patrick Turner will be huge for them this year BTW) but I could not think of any losses on their D. The LBs are USC's strength. That being said, I believe UT's defensive speed is greater than USC

I'm not sold on turner. He's had 1 100 yard receiving game in 2 years and even then he didn't look explosive. I think he will be capable, but not a star. SCs got good speed everywhere.

If the need to bet on how Turner will do ever comes around, bet for a 1000 season and 8+ tds.

USC's D is better than UT's. I just wanted to get you riled up but I forgot you were a sane fan

if that's true he would have seen the field. The TE had more catches than turner last year. Williams was a man among boys as a freshman.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that more of a by-product of lack of depth at WR that year...

Turner has been the 3rd receiver behind two 2nd round draft picks for two years now...

He seems to have everything needed to be a great WR...it would have been nice to have him

When I think of what could have been with him and Meach last year....D***, D***, D***, D***, D***

The fact that there was no one behind williams only shows how truly great he was as a WR that year. He was the whole team, yet still put up huge numbers while being triple teamed. Williams would have started in front of smith and probably in front of jarrett particurally as a softmore (which turner was last year). The great players don't emerge as juniors IMO (except maybe at QB or something).

Cal's 3rd receiver: 46 receptions 571 yards 12.4 ypc
Turner: 29 receptions 272 yards 9.4 ypc

Yet somehow turner is some sort of future all american? Please. Also remember USC had zero running game last year.

Is it just me or are cal fans extremely confident, even though they took a huge beating last year. Our d last year most certainly didn't live up to tn standards, I personally think this years will be much improved, I know our receivers are young, but they are very talented or they wouldn't be at ut, they'd be somewhere like cal, but since a real team recruited them they are at ut. I don't know maybe cal does beat us this year, (i don't think so, but stranger things have happened). From everything I'm hearing we are gelling a lot better as a team than in years past. I think our dbs will have a break out game. Cal you'd better put the women and children to bed, because the vols are coming and we're looking for dinner, ( if you don't know what that means see the movie the program). It's almost bear season in TN.

GO BIG ORANGE

Hey I think TN just scored again:rock:

Was Keary Colbert not there with Mike Williams?
