College Football Is Socialism!

The University of Tennessee is a public institution. Sure, the AD derives revenue from ticket sales and broadcast contracts, but that does not change the fact that it is a state institution, supported by tax dollars.

It sounds like you’re talking about public universities in general instead of college football

For the record, I disagree. It’s hard for me to view it as socialism when people still pay tens of thousands of dollars in tuition to attend these public colleges

I would say more oligarchy. There’s nothing socialistic about the current NCAA.

Does Volnation have any type of an award for the best thread ever?

Are you trying to demonstrate you really don't have a clue what "socialism" actually is?

We have people screaming "socialism!" at every tax funded program they do not like. I have seen people declaring that a public library is "communism!" I am just trying to put things into perspective. I mean that people recklessly pick and choose how they use that word, declaring that anything supported with tax dollars is socialism and therefore bad, unAmerican, etc. You get my drift?
