Coker working at Kick Returner

I am a fan of Rogan and I think he will end up being a great punt returner. But, D. Moore and L. Creer are both "faster" than Rogan.

Being a good kick returner is more than just straightline speed. I should have said Rogan is more agile. If that was the case Leonard Scott and Eric Parker would be all over the UT record books.

Rogan has the ability to make cuts without losing any speed whatsoever and has better vision for setting up his blocks. Creer and Moore haven't shown that yet, but they've only been returnmen in 1 game so maybe I'm discounting them too quickly.

You make a good point that speed isn't everything in the return game and that Rogan brings a lot of those other nuances to the table. Having said that I think you are selling Scott a bit short. While pretty much a bust at wideout he is 2nd only to Gault in KO return yardage in UT history and 7th in SEC history.

Yes I was. Sorry about that Leonard Scott wherever you are.

I agree that speed and quickness/vision are different things. I was just pointing out that Rogan does not have the same straight line speed as that group I put above. That is why I said I think Rogan will be a great punt returner. He has good vision and is very quick. Kickoff returns are much more about straight speed than punts though. Kickoffs ususally invovle one cut, a seam, and you're gone. Punt returns take more quickness and you have to "make guys miss" more often.

Agreed there. But Rogan took a couple of kickoffs in practice while none of the others have.

Fulmer just said that Coker and Creer will be returning kicks and he hopes to get O'Neal in to return a kick against UF as well.

Like a fool, I am still hopeful that we will see some of this blazing speed before the end of the Florida game.

get coker on the field and leave creer back there as in the southern miss game. creer did well and has knack to get into the gaps and seams of the return game.

I'm in favor of getting Coker, Creer, and Hardesty all involved in the offense in slot receiver positions or whatever is necessary.

I say we just have Coker and Moore on KO returns.. they are both faster than Foster and Creer.. we need super speed on returns, like what Cal did to us..
and plus, they are both playmakers..
