Coker is finished

well, to be fair, since it was the 4th strike, it wasn't CPF that "decided" this.
the decision to dismiss Coker was came after he failed his fourth drug test. Under the athletic department's drug policy, a player is immediately dismissed.
“As I’ve had a chance to further investigate and talk to others close to the situation, I have decided to dismiss LaMarcus from the team because he did not do what was asked of him,” Fulmer said in a statement released by UT.

I know he brought it upon himself, but I cannot help but feel sorry for the young man. LC, I'll say a prayer that you find your way.

“As a coach, my first obligation is to the growth of the young men with whom I'm entrusted. Sometimes, that means encouragement and mentoring, sometimes it means helping them understand the consequences of their decisions. LaMarcus is a talented young man with a lot of life in front of him. It is my hope that he will look back at this one day as a life lesson that helped him get things straight for his future."

with this statement, Phil has earned back a measure of my respect. Coach Fulmer, I tip my hat to you.

What is up with these kids? I know they are young. But they need to learn life doesn't owe them anything. They are given a gift that most would die for and so many piss it away. For what? To get high. This sucks. Sucks for the kid. Sucks for his family. Sucks for us. Sad Day.

i don't think anyone would say CPF isn't a good man.

that's never been part of the issue with me.

Good Riddance. He hardly helped us this year. His RB running was average at best. His good returns on KO were few and far between (although at a great time last week). I hope he gets his life together.

shame. hope he has it in him to do some soul-searching and rise above his circumstances.

Damn - since when does it take 4 positive drug tests to get kicked off.
You tell me he was playing last week with only 3 failed drugs tests and that is ok?

I agree. This is a very bad day for this kid and as much as I'd like to throw him under the bus, he's obviously got a problem and I hope he is able to figure some things out before he ruins his life.

The policy is what it is.

Coker doesn't realize the opportunity he lost. Sad day for Coker and the football program.

Coker, I hope you REALLY learn from this. Oh well, we still have a stable of RB's in the waiting to play so it won't hurt us to bad. I don't like seeing a player dismissed for any reason, but he's had his chances.

Sorry you are still making bad decisions Coker.

This is probably best for the team though. Distractions they need no part of.
