I missed the NOT blaming part. I will say this. It could have been much worse. And honestly I think we had a better shot at Vonn Bell with Butch than Dooley. The man is a natural salesman. He will rake in some big recruits to knoxville in the future. Count on it

According to Ainge, Bell was never coming here. He said the damage that was done by Dooley and his staff was irreparable. Apparently there was some geniune hurt feelings by Bell, his family and his coaching staff because of Dooley and his staff.

So why would he even show interest then? Sounds like Ainge is just trying to sound like he knows what is going on.

Sorry but I don't care how long he's been here. A bad class is a bad class. I'm not BLAMING CBJ for the class we got, but the fact that CBJ has only been here a short time doesn't suddenly make it a good class.

When I read posts like this, I remember back to how excited everyone was with Kiffin's first class and praising it for how incredible it was - then also remember that a vast majority of them were busts or criminals....

We're on the wrong end of the surprises. That's where they went.
I'd like to take a moment to thank all of those who made this possible.

1) Mike Hamilton

2) Lane Kiffin

3) Tales of the Crypt host (aka Dave Hart)

4) Derelict Dooley

5) Sal Sunseri

Couldn't have failed without you guys. :salute:

That's not the rule though. That's the exception. Typically the programs that pull in the top classes are the ones competing for championships. Look, I get it. Everyone is looking for silver linings. We got some nice "pieces" in this class but it doesn't change the fact that we are currently sitting behind VANDERBILT on Rivals! VANDERBILT!! So don't tell me this was a good class because it's not.

real shocker there. Good things are to come with Butch. He's likable, he markets himself and the program, and he's passionate. That's what it takes to get a program to the top. Dooley was just likable. And even that was a stretch on some days.
