At this point its logical to think we hear something by midweek. Pruitt should have at least 3 guys in mind and barring all 3 saying no, I would think a conclusion to the search would happen soon.

Actually, hiring an unproven guy is just as effective as any other method. It’s rare to get someone proven on a Power 5 level to move to another Power 5. Saban wasn’t even proven when hired at LSU. Saban at LSU, Urban Meyer (can you really say Bowling Green and Utah made him a sure thing?), Fulmer, and Chizik all won national titles and I wouldn’t say any were truly proven when hired. Also, look at Richt, Smart, and Mullen at Miss St. Seems to me that coordinators can work out in the SEC and so can coaches from non-Power 5 schools.
