Thanks for the info, alaVol. I hadn't heard or read anything about that in the past 3.75 seconds.

According to hyams, the Vols assistant coaching staff is highest paid in SEC at around 3.6 million. If you factor in CLK they are the fourth highest paid staff behind UF, Bama and LSU. Which staff, of those schools and including head coaches, would you want?

An 11% staff salary increase for the upgrade over the previous staff is amazing. MH truly knocked this one out of the park on paper.

I don't know what all the fuss is about, seems to me like this is a bargain based on what we've gotten. I have yet to see a side-by-side comparison of our 2009 staff budget vs. each SEC school staff budget in 2008. Anyone in the media that is complaining about what we are paying our assistants needs to do a little freaking homework and compare the whole package.

Please refrain from using facts...and especially statistics...

Mike Hamilton and Lane Kiffin...kudos.

Now let's translate it on to the field. From what I've heard from workouts and recruiting....we're definitely starting in the right direction.

My bad. This staff is going to be successful because we hired 2 AA coaches. Is that better?

The staff seems to be improving the current roster and has a lot of momentum towards building the future roster. It's hard not to be optimistic but I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the contrast compared to how the old staff did business.

Much better...

Agreed.

This morning on ESPN radio in Atlanta they were discussing the salaries of the new UT staff. They ultimately said that no one can complain since Tennessee is one of the handful of programs that actually makes money in athletics. Since we're completely self sustaining then we can do whatever we want. They even mentioned how much money athletics gives to academics just to be nice.

Miiles makes $4 mil at lsu??? :eek:hmy::eek:hmy::blink::lol:

3.7 million..he got paid big time after the MNC..it was closer to 1.9 before that...

You guys keep laughing at Miles...I can't figure out why?

The Hat is 41-11 (5 losses this season, he went 11-2 3 straight years) 4-0 in bowls, all blowouts, 1-0 in MNC titles, 1-1 in SECCG... 2 trips to Atlanta in 4 years!

Que, the it's from Saban's players, now there all gone! and boom 5 losses, right? Isn't that the response? ...

Well, Miles is raking in the best recruiting class in LSU history right now after a bad season..

Why are you laughing? still laughing at our coach? and his salary? meanwhile your coach, is 20 years younger than Miles has yet to prove he is worthy of 2 million? hasn't won an SEC game yet...

Easy up on LSU's coach.... he maybe goofy in front of camera sometimes, but the dude can coach and recruit and make good hires when he needs too..

you'll see.. Next year LSU will be in the top 8, and in 2010 -2011 compete for all the marble again. The table is set

You guys think LSU is in decline, because you think Miles can't coach even with top talent?....now that is just funny.

Miles isn't within 20 miles of Saban's coaching ability.

And don't say I'm biased...I despise both equally.

As I recall, he seemed to think that Brian Kelly was going to be the guy. And if I remember correctly he said one week on the SportsSource that if they had to pay Davis $3.5 mil that they were going over the top and spending too much, and UT should just pay Kelly $3 mil.

Apparently Hyams has a huge man crush on Butch Davis. After the Fulmer dismissal, Davis was about the only word out of his mouth. I believe that Kelly was his fall back crush.

Hyams couldn't find his a** with both hands.

Your statement is an exaggeration of truth.

Why do you hate Miles BTW?

If you could remove youself from the hatred you have leftover from Saban leaving...you would have agree that he is the better coach.

Les Miles won the title with Saban's players and got a fluke win against Auburn and Florida in 2007. He will not win the SEC again for a long time. Meyer, Saban and Kiffin will dominate the SEC for a long time baby!!!
