According to hyams, the Vols assistant coaching staff is highest paid in SEC at around 3.6 million. If you factor in CLK they are the fourth highest paid staff behind UF, Bama and LSU. Which staff, of those schools and including head coaches, would you want?

Go ask Hyams how many HC's in the SEC have signed with teams in the past 3 years and taken a pay cut from the previous HC and brought in the assistants LK has brought in. Didn't Hyams want Davis for $4 million a year?? As a matter of fact, who did Hyams want??

He has won the National Championship, so I guess the $4 Mil per was worth it. 2 of those 3 schools have won multiple NC's this decade. I'm glad to see we're in good company at least.

I actually understood that sentence. I'm proud of me.

A coaching staff's salaries usually look like a pyramid. At Tennessee there is no good shape that describes it.

Hyams had a hard on for Kelly and Davis. I think he said at one point he (Kelly) would be the next coach here for around 3mil.

If you think about the amount of money that each SEC school has to play with, Tennessee's payroll is right where it should be. UF, Bama and LSU are paying more for their staff's but we are getting more value with our money. I like it!!:good!:

It would be worth being the highest paid in the SEC if we win. We had middle of the road last year.

Our staff has to be one of the best....apparently Bama and Florida have great staffs as well.

I would rank UT and FL 1 and 2 :)

I'll take what we got for the money, and be happy.

We got CLK, Monte, O and Thompson for about what BAMA pays Saban.

As I recall, he seemed to think that Brian Kelly was going to be the guy. And if I remember correctly he said one week on the SportsSource that if they had to pay Davis $3.5 mil that they were going over the top and spending too much, and UT should just pay Kelly $3 mil.

Our coaching salaries pool is $5.325 million which ranks 4th in the SEC.

Here's the breakdown from John Brice....

MK: $1.2 mil

Chaney: $380,000
Thompson: $350,000
Gran: $185,000
Cregg, Reaves, Wilson: $150,000
Garza: $110,000

Monte Kiffin will get an additional $300,000 bonus at the end of next year, which clearly pushes his salary to $1.5 million

Wow, I've never seen a Def Co. make almost as much as the HC. But if anyone deserves it its MK.

Sexiest staff in the SEC...
