I wonder, when an up and coming coach is up and coming, are they more wide open? Whether an OC or "non-major" HC, wouldn't you take more risks, be more wide open, more "innovative" or whatever. Once you hit the big time the pressure to succeed becomes greater and, unless you have giant stones, typically coaches become more conservative. Of course there are exceptions (see one Steve Spurrier) but I tend to think it is more common than not. Opinions?

I think there's definitely a different mentality between being a coordinator and being a head coach. That's why it's so incredible when guys like Spurrier are able to do both and still stay as aggressive.

Security and trust of a head coach......Fulmer/Cut for example......each one gives the other security and vice-versa
