Why not a timeout when Space made the 3 to go up 1 with 4.4 left???? Cmon conzo. Any idiot knows to call a time out there. SMH

Before the fire CCM threads start, per very knowledge source, Hart says Tennessee can't keep paying buyouts. So CCM gets a 4th year regardless. And yes I know, everybody on here knows a big source.

I don't really care who your source is, but if Cuonzo doesn't turn this around then and they miss the tourney then he's gone. Hart can't afford empty seats either.

Tennessee is not dancing and Martin will still get another year. He doesn't deserve it but I don't think anyone pulls the trigger to fire him.

Trust me I want CCM out of there. But but too much money has been spent on buyouts. I would take Rick Byrd over CCM.

I don't understand what the deal is with being upset at not calling a time out. AM has a solid defense. You have 4 seconds which is time for what? Jordan takes that last shot regardless and advanced the ball pretty quickly. I like my chances at an unset AM defense than a drawn up coach Martin plan

not calling a timeout isnt necessarily a bad decision, especially with a guy like mcrae



letting them revert to the bad UT without making a change in the 2nd half is a fireable offense.

Why didn't Martin have our team run some precious clock time when we took the ball out of bounds with about 1:17 left?!!! He calls for a quick Maymon slash to the basket only for him to choke and miss it! Drained NO CLOCK and missed the damn shot....PATHETIC!!

Yea that doesn't make any sense at all. Draw up a play, the guys emotions are running to high I realize it's also vica versa but still. The Tennessee guys needed to be calmed down and told they were going to win with this play. Not dribble wildly and throw it up. There were 3 or 4 timeouts unused

A time out to stop their run makes more sense than calling a time out after the three.

What kills me is during the game he says his team needs more fire in practice and in the games. That's called "Coaching" Counzo. You are the one that has to instill the fire in your players.

I can't see Cuonzo in stilling "fire" in anybody. He is BORING

TN made the same mistake with Houston hiring him for something besides coaching abilities. Had to keep him 3 yrs. too long and TN basketball still hasn't recovered IMO. Now we got the same thing in Martin and can't fire him either.

You are right-any idiot knows to call a timeout at that point. But only a real idiot doesn't know that's a tough call and one that real coaches disagree on.
Doing so let's them set up their defense. It's a tough call either way and only the end result will tell you which is the better decision. To second guess it and state that "Any idiot knows to call a timeout there" shows how little you know about the situation.
