Coaching Hypocracy

About 10 coaches are worth what they are being paid. The rest are stealing money.

Just because Saban is worth 11 million doesn't mean Butch Jones, Derrick Mason, Mark stoops, etc are worth 5.

I've always been a supply and demand person. The market is determining the salaries.
Now if college football over-saturates or popularity drops, and TV contracts drops, you will see the older coaches with huge contracts either not resigned or bought out. You see that now in NASCAR with the younger drivers being signed and the expensive drivers being dropped. A winning college football team actually increases revenue for the whole school. Not just the athletic dept. Thus schools pay.

Am I the only one disgusted with the money being thrown at power 5 HCS and the fact that they preach loyalty and team above all until they get 75 million guaranteed ? I am glad we didnt get Jimbo - if he bombs ( there is no certainty he will win big at A &M) they are married to him for the next TEN years. Unless he is better than Saban, which I doubt , being wedded to him for that long is a major gamble. A & M shelled out more than 100 million dollars to make this happen. How much could tuition be lowered if they used that for students. The whole system is rotten to the core. These guys like Scott Frost walk away from guys they recruited before a bowl game bc it"s all about them. Disgraceful. CEOs and coaches are modern-day kings- above mere mortals and minions. They make more eating lunch than a teacher or policeman makes in a year. What does this say about America? Stop the insanity!
You’re right about the insane amounts of money and where that money could be used more appropriately. But think of it as just a job. When you job hunt you look for certain things too. Your resume is made in a way to make yourself look attractive and to maximize your earnings. I don’t blame them for wanting the most money or dream jobs.
