Do coaches try to manipulate the rankings to favor their team's rankings and seeding? How can they explain ranking Georgia and South Carolina above the Lady Vols?
Lady Vols won by 20 over SC and by 13 over Georgia and have played a tougher schedule (3 of the top 5 - top 4 in AP poll). Doesn't this mean anything to coaches?

Latest coaches poll isn't out yet. Ranking should change and fall in line with AP.

My question is how did SC and Georgia jump the Lady Vols in last week's coaches poll? Surely the head to head results were ignored, or maybe coaches have a personal motive for the way they vote.

Given our depleted state and the quality of our play lately I think it isn't a stretch for us to take a hit in the rankings right now.

If we want to move up we will need to play better.

I hope the LVs move up in the rankings, especially after defeating LSU who defeated Georgia a few days ago. I think the thing that hurt the LVs the most was losing to unranked Missouri by double digits.

I don’t think many of the other teams in the SEC are playing all that great either and they are plagued with injuries too. Let’s hope the LVs get some good rest, fine tune their ball handling and shooting and whatever they need to do this week to win the rest of their basketball games and the SEC title.

I don't think quality of play has ever had much to do with rankings. Wins and losses are what drives that train. The Lady Vols dropped because they lost to an unranked team. They have moved back up because two of the teams in close positions above them have losses in the last week.

Keep on winning and hope that the teams above you in the rankings lose. About the only formula that means anything.

it is hard to say about the coaches poll,wasn't there a few in football a couple of years ago said there wives did the voting,because they didn't have the time ? and I'm sure they will vote according to what would help there team
