am I the only one that thinks they got the championship game right?....I can never call a school national champions if they don't even with their own conference, sorry Texas maybe your cornerback should have pushed crabtree out of bounds rather than going for the pick and maybe then you'd be able to play for it but you knew the rules for conference titles from the outset, its not like the rules just magically changed half way through the season to screw you. I think Florida vs. Oklahoma is the right pick based upon they are the two best teams out of the conference champions (USC maybe but the Pac-10 is a joke so....no). Alabama has the biggest right to gripe because unlike the girls up there in the Big 10 they had to play Florida where as Penn St. doesnt have to play that extra tough game, they get to sit up there and get their toenails painted and chat about which tampon fits better for them.....makes me sick they wont just pick up Notre Dame and have 12 like all the real conferences and play a title game. But back on topic.....i think the only problems i have with the outcome of the BCS this year is that Ohio st. got an at large and the fact the ACC has an automatic bid but thats neither here nor there at this point, I just hope to see oVerraTed VT get embarrassed same with Ohio St. because they are there taking up spaces in the BCS from deserving teams.

So Texas isn't better than Oklahoma by virtue of beating them outright on a neutral field?

no i did not say they were better team, but when does the best team in any sport crowned national champion? What i am saying is texas' reason for griping is because of a rule they in essence agreed to by starting the season in regards to the way division winners were chosen in the result of a tie. Therefore, because of these rules they should not be allowed to play for the national championship because the rules were established and in place long before this came up. I would understand their gripe should the the champion be decided by an arbitrary method at the end of the season like a two man sack race on consecutive sundays for 3 out of 5 weeks. But I think tha tonly conference champions should be allowed to play in the title game based on the sole fasct they won the conference. I would like to see a uniform method between the conferences to pick their champion but the fact still remains that they were not representing the big 12 south in the championship game. You cannot ignore the fact they lost to texas tech, another team technically tied for the big 12 south people have written off and i dont hear mike leach whining like mack brown. He knew the rules the conference laid out at the begining and should follow them without whining.
