We won't be back on top 25 this regular season

I disagree. I think if we win out, convincingly, we'll be back in the Top 25 (of either the CFP, or the AP, or both) before the Vandy game. Especially if Florida loses to LSU.

Virginia Tech beats a decent conf. opponent and drops 1 spot below Western Michigan who beat who?

Probably their way of hurting us in our strength of schedule.

These polls literally mean nothing. Why get worked up over how they rank anybody? A&M will plummet in the CFP poll.

Yes, I'm sure there's a giant conspiracy to sabotage a 3 loss team's SOS in November.

Still not true. They (AP and Coaches polls) continue to contribute to the national conversation, and the CFP Committee remain, like all humans who follow college football, influenced by that conversation.

Coaches themselves have said this poll is ridiculous because they only gollow their yeam and next week-s opponent.

Oh, I don't disagree one bit with that, McDad. Every poll format has weaknesses, but the Coaches poll's weaknesses are monumental: coaches don't have time to watch many teams play other than their own, so don't know who they're ranking ... many coaches never even see the votes they cast, some guy in the office does it on their behalf, completely undermining the polls' claim to have the smartest football minds in the nation casting ballots ... favoritism and hatred and rivalries driving votes ... and so on.

No, the Coaches poll isn't a great format. And yet, it still contributes a bigger voice than almost all others in the national conversation. Only the AP poll gets more attention.
