They went 0-8 in one-possession games (2021) and are 5-20 in one-possession games during Frost’s tenure

Yeah but this is a tough thing to judge on. Heupel also has a poor record in close games.

But when you look at coaches that have that ratio of close games under their belt, how many were close losses due to mismanagement, and how many were actually very well coached games that otherwise would have never been close.

For Heupel at least, I tend to think it’s the latter. Just looking back at last year, Ole Miss and Pitt were dang good teams that were out of the league of a UT team that won 3 games the prior year, but they were close losses because of how well we are coached by JH. So in those 2 games he’s “0-2 in close games”, but they should have never been close games. It’s very possible that it’s a similar situation with Frost.
