It really gets on my nerves when a Head Coach or Position Coaches are on the sideline in t shirts. I think it looks unprofessional. Bronco Mendenhall at BYU is the worst. I think he wore a t every game this season.

If he was a ball boy or a manager, it would be fine. But he's the Head Coach for Pete's sake! Put a nice shirt on.

Me too. I was actually a big fan of Mike Nolan's sideline attire

Coats and ties on coaches have never made sense to me slightly. It's dumb.

The worst was that fashion trend when coaches were wearing ties with baseball caps a la Terry Bowden, Pat Dye etc.

I dunno...I think managers wearing uniforms in MLB is rediculous looking. I realize it's baseball, not football, but c'mon man...an old, out of shape guy who is not going to take the field has no business wearing a tight polyester uniform.

I kind of agree with you on this. Case in point:

What is funny is most of the coaches are so uptight they mix t-shirts and slacks. If you are going to wear a t-shirt you should wear jeans or shorts, not slacks.

And if you wear a polo and slacks your belt must match your shoes, just sayin...

I wanna see a coach with a mohawk. Let them wear what is comfortable. They're there to coach a football team, not look good for the camera.

There is the image of a head coach who is so calm and collected he can wear a tuxedo on the sideline and not shed one drop of sweat. Some think that good leaders have a responsibility to appear to be in control at all times. Let the assistant coaches run around like crazy people (and wear crazy people clothes), the head coach should stay calm and think.

Fashion has zero to do with how well one can coach, do you think coaches want to take a gatorade shower in a suit?

I don't think anyone said it's an indication of coaching ability. I just think it looks good.
