As is with a lot of high profile coaching changes, a lot of times coaches bring some of their own recruits that were planning to sign at their current school to their new school. I remember Cal doing this with Memphis commits when he went to Kentucky.

So, taking that into account, which coaches might have the best possibility of bringing recruits to Tennessee with them?

Anthony Grant's current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Alabama Commitments

Brad Stevens' current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Butler Commitments

Shaka Smart's current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 VCU Commitments

Chris Mooney's current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Richmond Commitments

Mark Turgeon's current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Texas A&M Commitments

(LONG SHOT) Jamie Dixon's current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Pittsburgh Commitments

(LONG SHOT) Jay Wright's current commits/signees:

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2011 Villanova Commitments

This is good insight. Not sure how much it comes into play but it is interesting to look at.

I think we frowned upon this when CLK and ogre tried to take our players, would be hypocritical for us to encourage a new coach to bring kids he recruited to another school with him. jmo.

Commits would have to sit a year if already signed unless there is a clause in their LOIs such as cJC used.

I doubt Grant would change minds of the two commits from state of Alabama. Could you imagine how Bama fans would react to a coach going to Tn? It wouldn't be safe for a Bama kid to ever come back if he followed him.

I wonder how we reacted when Dickey left us to be UF's football coach. It couldn't have been too messy if we got his son and made him AD.

What about Jeff Capel? Oklahoma was pretty good a few years ago and he recruited Blake Griffin?

We can only hope that whoever gets hired brings a Ryan Childress level talent with him.

As long as when the coach is leaving, him and his assistants aren't calling recruits telling them not to go to class

Totally different situation. Those kids were fewer than 24 hours from attending class. These kids would be 5 months away from starting school. Ogre also used a UT cell phone to place those calls and was attempting to be underhanded about the whole thing. I'm sure in a situation like this, any new coach would do things much more on the up and up - especially considering what Kitten and the Ogre did.

Wouldn't most of these guys had signed their LOI's already? Even if the coach leaves, they wouldn't be able to go anywhere without a release.
