Out of the top 70 plus players picked by the SEC coaches as all-stars, the Vols placed one ( Mr Smith) . Every other team has at least 2 players picked. Prepare thyselves for another year of embarrassing beat-downs in SEC play. Thanks Butch for leaving us in great shape. We will be , once again , champions of life at least.

I was just watching the SECN and they were going ove the best WR duos in the SEC. the order was
1. Ole Miss
2. UGA
3. South Carolina
4. Missouri
5. Florida

So 4 of the top 5 are in the East. Yep, I would say we are in for a rough year. I mean my God, You just said it, even Vandy and UK has more players than us in this preseason ranking.

Guess there's no reason to play the games

This is what it looks like when you care more about what people say about you than you do about who you really are.

Get it together, fellas! Pre-season appearances rarely become post-season realities. This team might have a half dozen all-SEC first and second teamers. We won't know until they take the field and start playing games.

Don't lose hope so easily.

Go Vols!

No One Hears You!

No One Cares About You!

Nothing will come of this!

Go Away!

Jones didn't leave championship caliber talent when he was fired. But the we have Vandy/UK level talent idea is absurd. Don't confuse poor development, poor management and generally a poor atmosphere as a void of talent in every area .

No, unfortunately they’re not. Some people are stuck in the Jones era and can’t realize what’s ahead. They’ll be smiling by the end of the year, though.
Someone needs to go back and check the pre-season vs post-season teams and standings predictions for the last few years. The pre-season stuff is purely for the money sense they know fans are anxious and to give the talking heads something to talk about leading up to the season when they don't have anything to talk about. No one... LITERALLY no one will care if a player makes one of these lists if they don't follow it up with a great year.

agreed. and not to mention that absolutely none of the pre season hype we received in 15 or 16 helped us do a darn thing.

it's all BS, good or bad. you still have to go play.

Preseason awards are based on last year. We have several guys knocking on the post season awards, but there current status held them off the preseason list. JJ could be the best in conference if he is healthy and the oline and QBs are supporting. We have several guys pushing for the second spot.

I like JJ but thats absurd. He's probably not even the best on our own team.

It's not where you start it's where you end up. Nic Chubb at UGA was a GOAT SEC RB per some folks, until his 4 year career came to a close and the record was he never made or was named to an All American team and therefore was ineligible for the College Football Hall of Fame.

Last time I played in a game I was sure we had 11 on the field.

Don't sound (be?)so disappointed!

Pre-season lists are mostly made of opinions (yawn). Post-season lists are based more on facts and achievements. Anybody who thought UT was going to get a whole lot of 2018 pre-season love at any level after an 0-8 SEC season is delusional.

2018 will not be an 0-8 repeat and more Vols than Trey Smith are going to do very well. Let's play the games and see where it all ends up. Go Vols!

I'm no sunshine pumper by any definition of the term, but dang...we haven't played a game yet. Hold off on having the band fire up the "Top 10 Funeral Dirge Medley", bud. In related news, it's nearly football time and that is something to be glad about.
