If $42 million is still on the table, you may as well wait for Marrone or an NFL guy after Christmas.

If $42 million is on the table, our coach better be like

If it was easy to attract good coaches to UT each of the recent hires would have been a good coach.

Kiffin, Dooley, Jones, etc. are not coaches most fans would have chosen.

Two AD's hired these guys. A new AD was also struggling to hire a good coach.

Can't believe all three AD's were inept and clueless.

They were trying to sell a program which obviously is not perceived to be as good as most fans would like to believe.

You really don't understand the negative impact the Haslams were having on UT football.

There are plenty who want that. Just no one you would want. This is just like recruiting. There’s a lot of good reasons to play football at Tennessee. But, there are a lot of good reasons to play elsewhere too. Everyone is trying to sign the 5*, not just Tennessee

Shut the f#$% up. I'm so sick of opposing fanbases mindlessly trashing Tennessee because it serves their own self-interests. Stop acting like Florida is so much better than Tennessee. The only difference between Tennessee and Florida one week ago is that one had a trainwreck for an Athletic Department and the other didn't. Hopefully, Fulmer stabilizes the AD.

Even w/ our trainwreck of an Athletic Department, Mike Leach wanted to come here. The Florida Gator boards were scared to death of the hire. We can still get a top-tier coach. Attracting a top-tier coach HAS NEVER BEEN OUR PROBLEM. Getting semi-competent people in the AD who are willing to hire that top-tier coach is THE PROBLEM. And I'm still not 100% sure if that problem has been resolved, but at least Haslam (the biggest issue) does not appear to be running the show any more.

How long can we realistically wait to hire a coach? With early recruiting this year, we really need to get someone in place within the next couple days or at the most by the end of the coming week, right?

A head coach is much more important than one recruiting class. Rushing a football hire will get us nothing but Dooley or Butch 2.0.

Afraid Fulmer will hire one in his own likeness. Three yards and a cloud of dust, wide receiver screen, repeat.

So Mannings, Clausens and Ainges numbers came from throwing screens? Hmmm. And just another question, what HC runs that style of offense currently?

Everything I said does apply to Florida. Never said it didn't.

You know what Gruden would say if Florida came after him....."No". Do you think anyone in Florida's administration would ever seriously entertain the thought of hiring Lane Kiffin......"No". Did the new hot shot hire (Scott Frost) want Florida....."No". Did the "home run hire" mercenary guy (Chip Kelly) want Florida......"No".

At some point, you have to accept that, move on, and hire the best guy available.

It doesn't mean I think less of Florida.

I'm being realistic here. We're playing musical chairs with these coaches and job openings and the music stopped a long time ago.

Florida State, a great job as well, is in the same boat if Willie Taggart says no. I have no idea what the heck they'll do.

Stop taking this personal because it's not personal for me. It's looking at what is and taking an honest and realistic look at the situation.
