Coach Pruitt deserves his hiring

Patience. Pruitt has earned his stripes. Those who know him, or have been coached by him testify. Pull together Vol Nation.

What 1st-round NFL draft picks said about 'amazing' Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt

Oh my God, these are Alabama players! What the hell is Pruitt doing? What an embarrassment to all that’s holy about Tennessee football. Wait til the twitter box fellers at Georgia and Florida get ahold of this.....it’s an abomination I tell ya.

Maybe this might be validation to what some of us were saying in other thread, sort of, it’s all about selling this coaching staff to the youth that have dreams of NFL, the staff hasn’t anything on thier resume to show what they have done for any player on or had been on a Tennessee team. The recruits are looking to THIER future, not what has happened before.

It's lovely that these former players have high regard for their former coach-- these former players who are the elite of the elite, the absolute cream of the national crop, who frankly didn't need much if any coaching to succeed wildly at the collegiate level. You guys who refuse to hold the new staff's feet to the fire are going to have a lot of ground to make up in 4-6 months. But the athletic department is happy that you're happy!

Yeah, star players don't need coaching.

There's no winning. Just different levels of losing.

Yes, God forgives. He asks that you forgive as well..

You are correct. The players who make it to the League had the talent to get there before they entered college. The fact that his former players acknowledge his contribution to their advancement and success should validate his impact.

Please forgive yourself.

Refuse to hold their feet to the fire? Lol. They haven’t coached a game yet. What exactly are we supposed to rail against them about? The only fire is the one that you and a few others are creating out of thin air.

And tell all the Tennessee recruits from the last 4 years, many of which were part of the 4th and 7th ranked classes in the country under Butch Jones that coaching doesn’t matter.

I think this is great and all. But you have to admit, Butch had former players and other coaches saying how great he was, too. These types of stories are just par for the course whenever a new coach is hired anywhere. If this makes you feel good, then knock yourself out. I think a lot of fans still want to see real results before we get excited.

And yet, some still don’t get point. Not about holding staff’s feet to the fire, just that we understand why they are doing it. This is thier job at the moment, just like any of us and I know when I’m working, I’ll put my very best into it, to keep said job, whatever it takes.

Who of the caliber players that were mentioned were on the same level quality and quantity wise that spoke of CBJ similarly?

Possibly one of the dumbest and more condescending comments I've seen on VolNation..

Definitely not worthy worthy of the handle you're using....

Who were they? Honest question. Especially, who were the players that spoke glowingly of Jones?

Please provide documentation or evidence that any reputable source said that Butch was great.

Reputable sources (NFL draft picks and SEC coaches) have endorsed Pruitt. I’m just asking you to give our coaches and players a chance. We need leaders in our fan base! Show some guts!

The preemptive strikes on these threads are funny. Id be more concerned if his former players didnt say good things about him.

Glad the titans got evans to. Listen to his interview today on 3hl. Alot of Saban talk, never mentioned pruitt there.

Antonio Brown? Eric Fisher?

Just off the top of my head.

I googled, couldn’t find anything from Brown, Kelce or Fisher....only Jones’ comments on them. And no offense, but asking if Brown and Fisher had positive comments about Jones in the manner that the Alabama players had positive comments about Pruitt doesn’t answer the question.
