When asked about the hiring of Lane Kiffin to replace Phillip Fulmer in 2008, Bruce responded to Paul Finebaum; "When you replace a ledgendary coach, you try to find someone that is diametrically opposite of the ex-coach". Therefore I nominate someone to replace the charismatic Coach Pearl.......Hugh Durham!!:thumbsup:

Best coach we've had so far. No disrespect to Coach Mears but he BP won 8 of the 16 NCAA tourney wins we've ever had and coach Mears was never ranked #1 in the country.

Yes, he was legendary. Enjoy the memory.

I nominate Jason Bourne, he is internationally known, could use his connections for recruiting. Being a covert op, the ncaa would have a hard time pinning any violations on him. His hands are lethal, what else would you need in a coach.

And no disrespect to your opinion, but I don't think Pearl had near the record against Kentucky as Mears did. NCAA wins are a bit misleading since Mears' didn't coach when 64 or more teams were in the NCAA Tournament. Mears' teams had to beat out the Rupp's Cats to even get into the NCAA tournament.

Oh, I agree but even when CM got into the tourney he didnt fair well. I dont think he ever got to the EE.

Not sure CMs or BPs record v Ky but he CM also didnt have a 2 time UF team to play also as well as Ark in their hayday.

There's alot of apples to oranges with the two but we just had an incredible 6 yr run we never had before.
