I split this off into another thread just to make sure everybody sees it.

Heck . . . I'm pinning it temporarily just for good measure.

He released a statement saying that the interview he had with Iowa was a courtesy thing and nothing more.

"We feel very fortunate and blessed to be the men's basketball coach at the University of Tennessee. It was never a consideration for me to leave Tennessee. I had a phone conversation with Iowa's athletic director early this morning as a courtesy for a place I have coached at and have great respect for. The University of Iowa is an outstanding school, and I know they will find a quality coach to continue their strong tradition of great basketball."

That speaks volumes of his character. Thank you Bruce:salute:

But Iowa isn't the greatest job. It would be considered a lateral move. If he wants to step up, he'd go to Kentucky. Honestly, I'm worried about Michigan. That program has awesome history and currently is a sleeping giant.

I honestly dont think that Pearl will leave for any school at this point, he has completely turned this program around with hard work and dedication and has won the fans over and i can't see him throwing all that away just to start all over again for another mediocre program

This is good news for UT. Now, if we can just get Billy D. to tell Kentucky to take their marbles and go fly a kite, it will be business as normal.

Despite my avatar, I think that would be great. I love having the Gators as a rival in football and basketball.

Let UK remain a doormat in football and become one in hoops.

:lolabove: :eek:lol:.. Your two year magic carpet ride is about to end law.. It's gonna be hard for you guys to keep up with us in the SEC Championship race next season. But you guys do have a nice shot to finish second in the SEC East. It might be hard for the gators to finish in the top 5 of the SEC come March. It'll be nice when Bruce flashes a 5-1 against Eddie Munster's armament down in Gainesville.

"I'm putting it out there just as fast as I can because I don't want it to be a concern of our fans, and I want to demonstrate my loyalty and my commitment to this program. I appreciate very much being here, so I don't want them to worry about me going anywhere," Pearl told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "This is where I want to be. I want to be here as long as they'll be happy with me here."

:good!:

"Iowa called last night," Hamilton said. "I expected it and so did Bruce. He spent a lot of time at Iowa obviously. I have said this before that my intent is for Bruce to end his college coaching career here at Tennessee."

Nice
