How do people STILL not realize that the duties of a head coach and the duties of assistants are so incredibly different that it's idiotic to compare them?

I just purchased Meat Market by Bruce Feldman, it's about Coach O and how intense he is, especially regarding recruiting. I have only read a couple of chapters so far but I think he will do extremely well here! For the first time in years I am excited about the direction our football program is taking!:clapping::clapping::clapping:

Shaeffer almost singlehandedly beat LSU two years ago. LSU was National Champions that year. The only reason Coach O is not still a Rebel is the relationship between the AD at Ole Miss and Nutt. To say Coach O's recruiting was not imperitive to Ole Miss' success is saying that Houston Nutt is a brilliant HC and I can't agree with that.

We should know as well as Coach O that if he had somebody better than Brent Shaeffer under center he might still be a head coach there.

Nutt got an eligible Jevon Snead and the rest of O's recruits got a year older. Ole Miss will fall back off. Nutt can't keep the talent level up there. If he does get some players he is sure to ruin it with them like D. Williams and M. Mustain.

And which of the two was our former HC good at? UT did recruit well up until '98 and then got complacent on the recruiting trail thinking they didn't have to work as hard. As far as coaching, PF will go down as one the best coaches in Vol history.....Thanks Cutty. Cutty made Fulmer.
