Steele isn't coming so quit getting carried away. The whole reason that Kiffin would get the job is b/c of the package deal. He has 2 guys very close to him who could be PREpackaged together. Steele would only be brought in for a coach who didn't have a SEC caliber DC already. Lane's got two DC so it ain't happening. Would Orgeron come to UT to be D Line and recruiting coordinator? Yes, but we would have to match his salary. But he would take a D Coor job at LSU or ARKY in a heartbeat before doing it so it appears Org will only be at UT if its for D Coor.

I guesstimate here is what we would have to pay all those guys:

HC Lane Kiffin: $2.5 million
DC Monte Hiffin: $1 million
Recruiting/DL coor Ed Orgeron: $700,000
=$4.2 million

Lane, MOnte, and Reaves.
If Orgeron doesn't come, definitely got to keep Scott and may need to bring back Troop.

Good point... taking Monte from the Bucs is like tearing out their hearts, dude. Jon is much more temporary. They must be hating life, while we're loving it! Maybe we can rename the defense the Tennessee 2. They'd love that, I'm sure.

My close friend just texted me that Coach O will join Kiffin as UT's D-coordinator. Another friend called me recently and said Lane's dad Monte Kiffin will be the dline coach.

Monte would be DC and Coach O DL/Recruiter.

And I love the Tennessee 2 MBA, that would be so wrong. Kind of like losing your girlfriend to a douche bag, then a new friend who doesn't know saying "Man, douchebags got a hottie girlfriend, I would......"

I searched an LSU board and the only thing they had was a link to this thread. Any confirmation or did someone confuse Turkey day with Wild Turkey day again?

I'll be so glad when our new coach and staff is in place because this "My friend called and told me" or "my sources tell me" or "A dude that cleans the toliets at a dude's house told my dad's exterminator" stuff is getting really, really old.

That doesn't mean anything. And I find it laughable that the Bucs fans are saying Monte would have gone with him to Oakland if he wanted to coach with him. I guess they forgot the fact he wanted him there. BUT, Al Davis has a thing for Rob Ryan. Kiffin wanted Ryan out. But wasn't happening.
