A fried mine called abot 10 minutes ago and said he heard on ESPN radio that Coach O was headed to LSU with Miles.. He said just barely caught the story and didn't get all of the details.. Did anyone else hear it too?

I know that is an option for coach O. I have not heard anything certain. Hopefully he comes to UT with Kiffin.

My buddy called me as well and said he heard on ESPN radio that Cowher is going to be our coach. Must be true. Anyone else hear?

I thought Cowher was just going to be the weight room coach to get back into the swing of things.:)

That just opens the door for Monte to come along. :)

Yeah - not happening unless Monte did agree. Although I'd probably prefer Coach O due to recruiting reasons. Doubt Monte Kiffin would be involved with recruiting at all.

Is there a buyout for NFL assistants? I was just wondering what the situation is on that.

No. He is free and clear to come if he wants, but he has to be willing to take a pay cut.

And I think Monte will be involved in recruiting, but as a closer. :clapping:

No - but same with Gruden - Tampa could get us in legal trouble if they wanted to take the time and trouble.

Not much, intentional interference with contract would not fly here. Kiffin contacted him before he was hired if it happens and thus was not our agent. Plus many other reasons. If they filed anything it would be a minor nuisance.

It's been noted that he is looking at LSU if that job opens up but there are complications there. One is that position isn't open yet. Two is that he and Les Miles pretty much hate each other. Then again, Steele and Saban aren't high on each other either.

peyton manning called me and told me this too.

lol.. Peyton better be more worried about the Titans putting the horse shoe somewhere he wouldn't like..)

He's the one that paid for the full page add saying "It is crazy to even thing PF will be fired" I guess his source let him down... He should have been reading VN instead of sucking up to Phil

That is why I posted to ask, because it was my understanding the Miles, Spurrier, Fulmer and Nutt turned him (coach O) in on possible recruiting violations.. I was wondering why he would do that then turn around and hire him

Did Saban not contribute to Bama being turned in along with Fulmer, Spurrier, et al? Worked out well there.
