One of the worst game-day coaches I've seen. The ONLY reason for the success he had was the talent he recruited. For that he deserves credit. But, if you can't recruit at UGA, you can't recruit at all. Great person, though.
Richt's recruiting prowess almost single-handedly began the decline in Knoxville.

That’s not really true. Garner left to coach under Donnan not Richt. And the year before Fulmer was fired he pulled in a top 3 class with 3 five stars. The decline was because Fulmer went from punching it out with Gerry Dinardo/ Sparky Woods / Ron Zook and Jim Donnan to Nick Saban/ Steve Spurrier/ Urban Meyer and Richt. And THEN Saban came back to the league on Steroids because he was embarrassed about the NFL and Fulmer got busted up. And THEN Cutcliffe left. Tennessee has taken way more from Georgia in recruiting than vice versa until Kirby stepped on the scene.
