Coach Heupel Named Co-Winner for First Year Coach Award

Beamer seemed to pass Heupel in the last half of the season as "media darling". His recruiting and transfers also seem to be viewed more positively than Heupels. Next season's game is going to be huge. After the lopsided win by the Vols, most of our fans project that game as an automatic win next season. Not going to be easy at all.

Heupel should have won it flat out - Hands Down! With all of last year's transfer portal madness, the NCAA investigation, and the adversity left behind by Pruitt -- I doubt that anyone else could have come a couple of bad calls away from a ten win season. -- At least Tennessee football is fun to watch again!

You'd think Heupel whoopin' Beamer in the head-to-head matchup would've been viewed as some sort of a tie-breaker.
If coach Heup had made the Dukes bowl and let them dump mayo on his head, he would’ve been the lovable coach, captured the nations hearts and won it outright...prolly.
🤔
GBO!!

TN beats the crap out of SC and Heupel has to share the award with Beamer....[/QUOTE
Beamer had a nice turnaround midseason though after it looked like they were headed for a losing season. He had wins against Florida and Auburn plus a trouncing of North Carolina in the bowl game. He is also doing a great job in the portal and recruiting. SC has some nice momentum headed into the offseason.

Yeah, I'd trade our head to head victory for beating Florida and Auburn and winning our bowl game. Not gonna lie.

It's a great start, with great indications for the future. Hope he continues the trajectory of improvement and program building.

This is more where my head is with Coach Heupel. Until he at least covers the spread and can it be too much to ask he actually defeat ONE of UGA, Bama, or UF before we erect his statue?

Heup needs to beat Florida next season in Neyland. We got some good momentum and return most of our offensive playmakers and Florida is in a transition year with a new HC.
