Coach Heupel at the mic to recap Pitt, look ahead to Akron

When commenting on the punt block, Coach had an opportunity to level some direct criticism but instead he chose to point the error at both coaching and players. That was an impressive answer imo. I read that as “we’re a team and we will win, lose and make mistakes as a team.” That’s a fantastic mindset to have especially at the start of a season.

I could have swore I saw an interview prior to the Pitt game where he said they had been practicing great all week and was excited to play the game. Sub-par performance on offense and special teams and suddenly we didn't really practice great all week? Sounds like a built-in coach speak excuse honestly. Either way, I hope Saturday's performance was an enigma that never shows it's face again.

Agreed. It’s refreshing to see them win that kind of game, but at times I thought I was watching a Jones coached team.

CJH is taking responsibility instead of singling out bad performance - This is the way.

Not selling books here but CJH understands this fundamental principle of leadership and ownership of all actions that occur under your command.

Coach said something like coaches didn’t communicate properly with the players. I took that to mean they forgot to say don’t just stand there, punt the darn ball! I’m betting we see Brooks get the ball away much faster in the future.
