i truly believe that the coach bleeds orange, but coach in the end you can't take the money with you but you can the legacy. by the devotion and determination that you have given over the years you are our hero, and to do the right thing is to turn it over to someone that can carry on the great tennessee tradition that we in the volunteer state stand for.:good!:

his legacy is very good....very very good. but I think he should get out while it's still very good and doesn't become just "ok" because that's where it's heading

I totally agree with you, but bleeding has to be stopped.

We deserve a 21st century coach for the 21st century game in the SEC.

I like the guy, but we deserve better. We ran Johnny M off for a lot less.

CPF will be remembered as a great coach for UT. A hometown boy, and graduate that brought a championship and national recognition back.

Depending on what he does at the end of the year (retire or stay) will determine how long it takes for him to reach that status.

He'll be known as the 2nd coach who never lost to UK, if he does it in Nov.

What is Johnny Majors legacy? Good...somewhat tarnished? I see simular for Fulmer except he has a leg up for the NC in '98.

20 years from now, nobody will remember anything that happened after 1998. Fulmer will be remembered as the 2nd best coach in Vol history.

I believe that will be up to him. If he goes ahead and steps down, and the next guy gets us back to the top fairly quickly, then I agree with you. If, OTOH, he stubbornly stays, and continues to drive us toward the conference basement, and it takes several years to recover, then I think he'll be remembered for the bad as much as the good.

1 title in 15 years, with all the talent at UT, including the Peyton Manning years? Overall, decent, but not great.

Tn. owes Fulmer nothing. He has gone from an assistant coach making a modest salary to a multi-millionaire as head coach, who never has to work again unless he just wants to, not like most of us. He has won big games but I feel his record has been boosted by playing many "sister's of the poor", and luck would have it that he had Kentucky and Vanderbilt that helped him to build a big win record in November throught the years:matrix:. Fulmer wants desperately to get 26 more wins and be remembered as the winningest coach ever at UT. We can not endure the time that it will take him to win 26 more games, the program will end up ruined by that time......

The second best head coach.....Cafego will always be number 2 on my list.

I will always appreciate Coach Fulmer for the magic ride through the 90's. I feel for him to see his team get out coached these days, I also feel for him for not getting the type of players that he use to. With all that said, I hope he has enough gall at the end of the season to call it quits, retire and live a quiet relaxing life. He deserves it

Fulmer's blood has been turning green with every new extension..........He will be looked at the same way GA fans view Vince Dooley.

Vince Dooley is a very good comparison.

Vince Dooley should visit Erk Russell's grave every week, and he should be paying for Herschel Walker's medication.

In the end it was Erk that made Dooley what he is today. It is a lot like Fulmer without Cut.

I disagree on that one. Dye had some great years, but he doesn't have Fulmer's national title or longevity.

Oh, I agree about the title, I was just refering to his legacy in the eyes of Tiger fans compared to what CPFs will be with Vol fans, Dye is a God to loads of the Auburn fan base and just "Tie Dye" that couldn't win the biggest games when it counted most to loads of others. Leave out CPFs NC and I think they are about equal in legacy and fan loyalty.
